The Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton recently received notification that the Second Annual Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk is now a USA Track & Field certified course. According to the standards adopted by the Road Running Technical Council, the Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk course is reasonably accurate in measurement.

Tanger Outlets’ 2^nd Annual Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk Receives USA Track & Field Certification

Tilton, NH, July 15, 2010….The Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton recently received notification that the Second Annual Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk is now a USA Track & Field certified course. According to the standards adopted by the Road Running Technical Council, the Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk course is reasonably accurate in measurement.

Tanger, along with Northeast Communications, Inc., Comcast Spotlight, L’eggs Hanes Bali Playtex,Champion,Eddie Bauer and Funspot, will present the second annual Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 25th beginning at 8:30A.M. The event’s certified (# NH10017RF) 3.1 mile course will begin and end at the Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton.

The family event is open to runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. Participants will be timed and prizes will be awarded courtesy of Reebok to the top 3 male and female winners. All finishers will receive a commemorative Fit For Families race medal, and the first 600 participants will receive a special race pack which includes a souvenir Tanger 5K Run/Walk t-shirt, shopping discounts and other goodies. Tanger’s Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk will benefit LRGHealthcare’s breast cancer awareness initiatives.

In 2009, Tanger’s inaugural 5K event was a big success. More than 400 active minded community members participated in the run/walk, raising nearly $5,000 for LRGHealthcare’s Digital Mammography Campaign.

“This certification solidifies the annual course for years to come and is a perfect reminder that the race is of exact length,” remarked Eric Proulx, General Manager of the Tanger Outlet Center. “Our goal is to make sure we are providing an accurate measurement for all the participants, both seasoned and new.”
