Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire

Nature Preserves & State Parks

* Mt. Sunapee State Park, Off Rt. 103, Newbury, NH Hiking, swimming, picnicking, boating, canoe & kayak rentals, fishing, in summer/fall Skiing, snowboarding in winter months.

*Pillsbury State Park : Off Rt 31, Washington Diverse habitat makes this a home to a great variety of wildlife, including moose and loons. Network of hiking and mountain biking trails Important link in the Manadnock, Sunapee Greenway, a 51 mile hiking trail that connects Mount Manadnock with Mount Sunapee. Canoeing & warm water fishing.

*Rollins State Park: Route 103, Warner. Located on southern slope of Mt. Kearsarge. Scenic auto road, picnic area, spectacular views. 1/2 mile trail to summit of Mount Kearsarge.

*Wadleigh State Park: Rt. 114, Sutton NH Swimming beach on Kezar lake. Picnic area, bathhouse, playing fields.

*Winslow State Park, Off Route 11, Kearsarge Mountain Road, Wilmont – Located on northwest slope of Mt. Kearsarge. Picnic area, spectacular views. One mile trail to summit of Mt Kearsarge. A 1 ¾ mile trail offers a loop possibility.

*John Hay National Wildlife Refuge – “The Fells” Gardens, hiking trails, Newbury

*On Little Lake Sunapee from Little Sunapee Road (about 1/2 mile east of I-89 Exit 12)

*Pleasant Lake from the Elkins Business Loop (off Route 11, about 4 miles east of I-89 Exit 11).

*Bradford Bement (1854 - 60 ft. 6 in.)Crosses: West branch of Warner River Location: Intersection of NH Rte 103 and Rte 114

*Cornish Blacksmith Shop (1881- 91 ft.)Crosses: Millbrook, Cornish City Location: 3 miles east of NH Rte 12A. Blow-Me-Down (1877 - 85 ft. 9 in.) Crosses: Blow-Me-Down Brook Location: South of NH Rte 12a, 1 1/2 miles soutwest of Plainfield Village Dingleton (1882 - 77 ft. 9 in.) Crosses: Millbrook, Cornish Mills Location: 1m mile east of NH Rte 12A

* Langdon McDermott (1869 - 81 ft.) Crosses: Cold River Location: North of NH Rte 123A, 2 miles north of Alstead Village Drewsville (1874 - 34 ft. 6 in.) Crosses: Great Brook Location: 1 mile south of NH Rte 12A at Langdon Village

*Lebanon Packard Hill (1991 - 76 ft.) Crosses: Mascoma River Location: Riverside Drive, Lebanon

* Lyme Edgell (1885 - 132 ft.) Crosses: Clay Brook Location: 1 mile south of NH Rte 12, 2 miles south of Orford Village.

*Newport Corbin (1845 - 96 ft. 2 in.) Crosses: Croyden Branch of the Sugar River Location: one-half mile west of NH Rte 10, north of Newport Village. Pier or Chandler Station (1871 - 2-span 216 ft. 7 in.) Crosses: Sugar River Location: East of Chandler Station Wright's (1895 - 122 ft.) Crosses: Sugar River Location: West of Chandler Station

*Plainfield Meriden (1880 - 80 ft.) Crosses: Blood's Brook Location: 1 mile northwest of NH Rte 120 at Meriden

*Warner Dalton (1963 - 76 ft. 6 in.) Crosses: Warner River Location: South of NH Rte 103 at Warner Village

*Waterloo (1972 - 76 ft. 4 in.)Crosses: Warner River Location: South of NH Rte 103, 2 miles west of Warner Village
