AUDUBON ANNOUNCES PROGRAM ON BIRDS AND BEASTS — FROM YELLOWSTONE TO THE EAST

On Thursday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Loon Center in Moultonborough, the Lakes Region Chapter of the New Hampshire Audubon Society will present a program with Andy and Beth Greenwood, who will take you on a digital voyage of their travels for the past two years. The journey includes images and stories of Elk in rut, birds, surprising mammals, and stunning scenery from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. They continue through North and South Dakota, including National and State Parks, visiting with wild horses and huge prairie dog towns. Next, they venture to the deep south — Louisiana, Mississippi and northeastern Texas, with images of wintering birds, plantations and haunting swamps. Then it’s on to Florida, for birds in breeding plumage and display, followed by a return home with incredibly beautiful new images of New Hampshire’s birds and animals.

The Greenwoods, Keene NH residents, have dedicated much of their lives to capturing digital wildlife images. This passion involves local and distant opportunities to respectfully photograph nature. They have been successful at capturing a variety of wildlife images, and this year marks the fifteenth year of enjoying the best work in the world. Andy’s favorite photo subjects are brown or black bear. Beth loves to photograph foxes and any baby animals. Andy is a former president of the Monadnock chapter of the NH Audubon Society and is a published freelance photographer. Beth is a ballet choreographer and published author/photographer.

The Loon Center is located on Lee’s Mill Road; follow the signs on Blake Road from Route 25 near the Moultonborough Central School, or from Rte. 109 turn on to Lee Road and turn left on Lee’s Mill Road. Refreshments will be served.
