Holderness NH—Uncover the rich natural history of Squam Lake on a Cruise with a Naturalist guided by an experienced Science Center naturalist educator.

Learn about the geology of New Hampshire while immersed in the wild beauty of Squam Lake and adjacent mountain ranges in this memorable lake experience. Gain a greater appreciation and deeper understanding of Squam Lake from the glacial origin of the mountains to the fascinating histories of different islands.

Observe Loons and Bald Eagles in their natural habitats, including nesting sites, along with other wildlife.  Learn how these animals survive and adapt to their aquatic world from your front row seats on the lake. Interactive discussion and questions are always encouraged.

Cruises with a Naturalist run on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:30 p.m. through the end of August, and on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:00 p.m. from Labor Day through Columbus Day.

All Squam Lake Cruises are 90 minutes in length. Squam Lake Cruises are on canopied pontoon boats. Binoculars are available for wildlife viewing at no additional cost. Cruises depart on Route 113 across from the Science Center parking lots. Park in designated lots and walk to Lake Cruise Headquarters using the paved pathway. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. 

Cruise Rates are $27/adult, $25/senior (65+), and $23/youth (up to age 15). Members receive a $4 discount on lake cruises. Purchase a combination lake cruise and live animal exhibit trail pass to save $6 per person. Combo Rates: $41/adult; $36/senior (65+); $32 youth (ages 3-15). Squam Lakes Natural Science Center Lake Cruises are not recommended for children under age 3.
