The Meredith Bay Barbershop Jamboree – a summer singing weekend spectacular!
Enjoy a day or the whole weekend of Barbershop Harmony. The Town of Meredith Parks & Recreation Department, The Meredith Chamber of Commerce, and a dedicated committee of NED members – bring you another year of Barbershop Harmony in Meredith, NH. There will be lots of opportunity to participate in one or more of several venues as well as informal singing around the Bay and Town.
Typical schedule (not official!) begins Friday afternoon and starts off with early check-in and a welcome event at the Meredith Community Center. “Dockside Harmony” begins at Hesky Park anytime YOU find a foursome – tenor/lead/baritone/bass and sing to ring!
Saturday venues include the Community Center, Hesky Park, Community Park, Prescott Park and then – within the community: shops, stores, various restaurant venues.
Singing and intense competition happens at the Mini-Gold Memorial Tournament and during a “Mock Quartet Contest” with mock judges and prizes!
Saturday night features the Great Gathering Show at the Community Center – where Choruses and Quartets come together for an evening of performances for an audience (open to the public!). After the show, walk across the hall for one of our famous Afterglows!
One feature of the Saturday evening Great Gathering show is the opening “Everyone In Harmony” Barbershop Chorus feature a guest director and men and women singing together. (There will be a rehearsal session for this just prior to the concert which you are welcome to attend and participate!) Songs will be posted in advance on the NED web site, Jamboree page!
This event appeals to the men and women who sing barbershop, either casually or to improve and have fun. It’s for anyone who wishes to give it a try – and for friends, fans, and lovers of barbershop. Ringing the chords is what makes this special!
