Waterville Valley is a natural oasis located in the heart of the White Mountains. The town lies in a natural valley, surrounded by 4,000-foot mountain peaks. Situated in the White Mountain National Forest and the Sandwich Range Wilderness, Waterville Valley is encircled by 700,00+ acres of protected National Forest land. Our unique location offers serene natural beauty combined with all the amenities, comforts, and charm of a traditional New England ski town.
Waterville is home to a large selection of wide open spaces – the Town Square Disc Golf Field, Packard’s Field, Osceola Arbor, the Waterville Valley Golf Course, and Corcoran Pond, just to name a few. There is no shortage of beautiful sanctuaries where you can enjoy unobstructed views of the sky.
Looking for a mountain-top refuge where you can view the eclipse? Mountains surround Waterville in every direction, and there are a plethora of mountain peaks that offer stunning views of the Valley and beyond. Please be aware, in early April there will most likely still be snow and ice along hiking trails. So if you’re planning on hiking to a mountain-top summit, please ensure you’re following the winter hiking guidelines.
Given the Valley’s serene natural beauty, majestic peaks, and expansive open spaces, there is no better place to witness this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon.
