2024 Solar Eclipse – Waterville Valley Resort, Waterville Valley NH

April 8 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Nature enthusiasts and astronomy lovers will be treated to a celestial spectacle during the 2024 Solar Eclipse. Waterville Valley’s pristine location provides an ideal vantage point to witness this rare event. Bundle up in your warmest winter gear and head outdoors to witness the moon passing between the sun and Earth, casting a temporary shadow over the valley. It’s a breathtaking moment that adds a touch of cosmic wonder to your winter escape.

On April 8th, the skies above Waterville Valley will darken for a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event.

The North American Solar Eclipse will pass over Waterville Valley with 95%+ coverage. While the eclipse will only last 3 minutes and 15 seconds, the memories you make during this ethereal natural phenomenon will last a lifetime.

Waterville Valley is a natural oasis located in the heart of the White Mountains. The town lies in a natural valley, surrounded by 4,000-foot mountain peaks. Situated in the White Mountain National Forest and the Sandwich Range Wilderness, Waterville Valley is encircled by 700,00+ acres of protected National Forest land. Our unique location offers serene natural beauty combined with all the amenities, comforts, and charm of a traditional New England ski town.

Waterville is home to a large selection of wide open spaces – the Town Square Disc Golf Field, Packard’s Field, Osceola Arbor, the Waterville Valley Golf Course, and Corcoran Pond, just to name a few. There is no shortage of beautiful sanctuaries where you can enjoy unobstructed views of the sky.

Looking for a mountain-top refuge where you can view the eclipse? Mountains surround Waterville in every direction, and there are a plethora of mountain peaks that offer stunning views of the Valley and beyond. Please be aware, in early April there will most likely still be snow and ice along hiking trails. So if you’re planning on hiking to a mountain-top summit, please ensure you’re following the winter hiking guidelines.

Given the Valley’s serene natural beauty, majestic peaks, and expansive open spaces, there is no better place to witness this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon.
