The Belknap Mill in partnership with Camp Resilience, is pleased to offer monthly
art therapy for veterans, active military, first responders and their families. These drop-in
sessions will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm the second Saturday of the month, beginning
May 13th at the Belknap Mill. This program will offer a relaxed way to connect fellow participants
and their families for a fun and accessible art making experience. All ages and skill levels are
welcome. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Art Therapy will be led by Frances Nutter-Upham MA, ATR, LCMHC. Fran moved to NH in 1969
as a high school student, and attended Plymouth State College and UNH earning a degree in
Art History. After raising her family in Nashua, she attended Lesley University in Cambridge MA
and received a masters degree in Art Therapy. Fran has taught art at the Nashua Arts and
Science Center, Nashua Community college and has been a visiting artist in the Nashua school
system.
Camp Resilience’s mission is to leverage the scenic outdoors of theLakes Region to improve
the physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being of military service members, military
veterans, first responders, and their families. They facilitate outdoor experiential learning
activities, life skills training classes, and peer-to-peer counseling opportunities to enable and
empower participant resilience and well-being. Additionally, they prepare and encourage
participants to positively impact their home communities throughout New England.
