Class description – Using Photoshop can be daunting and intimidating, to say the least…so many settings, tabs, menus and options. This class is designed to SIMPLIFY photo-image processing, from the camera to the print. NOTE: Although not required,it is best if students have their own laptop or tablet with
Photoshop CC or Elements installed, for hands-on practice*.
Photographer/instructors Jay Fitzpatrick and Ellen Goddard Jacques will boil down all these options to the essentials needed to work on photos in a straight-forward way. They’ll provide sample images on a thumb drive for each attendee, so everyone can work on the same photos together, navigating through the essential options. Classroom instruction will include an overview of how Photoshop’s three main components work together – Bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop itself. (Lightroom is not covered). Participants will then learn how to:
• Brighten and darken photos
• Add or reduce contrast and saturation
• Straighten and crop images
• Select the best file formats
• Clean up unwanted elements
• Resize images for printing & posting
• And more!
