Coffee With The Artist – McAuliffee-Shepard Discovery Center, Concord NH

On Monday, September 2, New Hampshire will unveil a statue of Christa McAuliffe on the grounds of the State House. The morning before his work is shared, the artist of this sculpture, Benjamin Victor, will be joining us to share his inspiration and design process.

Ticket cost includes admission to the presentation and general admission to the Discovery Center’s exhibit galleries. Refreshments generously provided by The Works Café.
About Benjamin Victor
After receiving a prestigious scholarship from the National Sculpture Society, Benjamin completed public artworks for numerous cities, institutions, and nonprofits throughout the West and upper Midwest, often to commemorate individuals or groups. At age 26, he was asked by the state of Nevada to create a statue of Paiute activist Sarah Winnemucca for the United States Statuary Hall in the US Capitol. Since then, he has created over three dozen notable works, including statues of Native American rights leader Chief Standing Bear and agronomist and humanitarian Dr. Norman Borlaug, both in the National Statuary Hall, making Benjamin Victor is the only living artist with three works in the Hall.
