New Art Classes Offered for Home Schoolers – League of NH Craftsmen -Meredith Fine Craft Gallery, Meredith NH
A new and exciting series of classes are being offered at the League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery. Artistic Exploration is a series of art classes tailored specifically for area homeschoolers. These classes will provide a wonderful opportunity for homeschooling students to engage in enriching artistic activities while connecting with fellow young artists.
Marilee Sundius, a local artist, graphic designer, and art instructor has been sharing her passion for art through a variety of private and group classes for more than 11 years. Art is considered to be a very important part of a child’s development, expanding their ability to interact and communicate through self-expression.
Join Marilee the second Wednesday of each month from 12:00 to 1:30 for a fun and creative time.
Fantasy Character – Ages 7-16
Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 from 12:00 noon – 1:30 pm
Students will be given drawing prompts and they will create a character utilizing their imagination!

Color Theory Review – Teens, Ages 12-18
Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 from 12:00 noon – 1:30 pm
Using only primary colors, students will create a color wheel and then use the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. Watercolor or acrylic paint will be the medium, and a provided image of pears will be the subject.

Christmas Gnomes – Ages 7-13
Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 from 12:00 noon – 1:30 pm
Using acrylic paint, students will create a Christmas Gnome of your own.

Marilee Sundius is a local artist, graphic designer, and art instructor. Over the last 11 years Marilee has shared her passion for art through a variety of private and group classes for home schooled children, as well as adult drawing classes and paint nights.
Graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design/Illustration, she has worked in the field of graphic design, always incorporating her creative passion and illustration when possible. In 1994, Sundius Design was created and since then, Sundius Design has successfully provided graphic design services (logos, publication, advertising and marketing materials), as commissioned portraits and illustrations.
Art is considered to be a very important part of a child’s development. It can expand their ability to interact and communicate through self-expression. Developmentally it will engage the right side of the brain (the creative side) which in-turn cultivates important skills. The creative process offers problem solving, challenges and experimentation, and provides both a tactile and mental experience.
During this workshop time together, Marilee hopes to bring out the creative side of your child!
