Newfound Science Pub – Newfound Lake Region Association at the Newfound Lake Inn, Bridgewater NH

June 5 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join the Newfound Lake Region Association (NLRA) at the Newfound Lake Inn on Wednesday, June 12th at 5pm for Newfound Science Pub, an engaging way to connect with experts in science and conservation – over food and drinks. Amy Smagula of NH Department of Environmental Services, Squam Lakes Association Direction of Conservation Cole Beale, and audience members will share their perspectives on aquatic invasive species, get an overview of current conditions regarding aquatic invasives in NH, and explore the challenges created for a healthy watershed when these species appear. Discuss current issues, ask your burning questions, and share your own perspective in a casual, social atmosphere. This event is free; attendees arrive around 5pm to purchase food and drinks, and the conversation begins at 6pm. Registration is required. Register by visiting NewfoundLake.org/events or calling 603-744-8689.

Amy Smagula is a limnologist with NH Department of Environmental Services and coordinates the aquatic invasive species program and special studies of the state’s lakes and ponds. Cole Beale’s work with the Squam Lakes Association focuses on stormwater management, water quality, invasive species, and shoreline restoration.

The NLRA’s mission is to protect Newfound Lake and its watershed.  The Association – through education, programs and collaboration – promotes conservation and preservation of the region’s natural, social, and economic resources. With the vision of a cleaner, clearer Newfound Lake, NLRA is working to improve environmental health, expand land conservation, increase community support, and grow watershed stewardship.
