Get ready for Highway to the Ranger Zone Hot Shots: Part Deux presented by Andrew North & the Rangers!
Every month local musicians hit the stage for the Highway to the Ranger Zone Open Mic. Players come from many backgrounds, cover many genres, and put on a show unlike any other in town. Now we have invited some of our favorite players to collaborate for an evening celebrating the wonderful smorgasbord of our open mic scene.
Here’s the lineup!
Actual Dave
Actual Dave is a one-man Concord Open Mic institution. He brings people together and creates a wild variety of fun and inviting music.
Jonathan Tuzman
Multi-talented local pianist Jonathan Tuzman has become a fixture of the Ranger Zone Open Mic. He always knocks our socks off with heavy hitting sets of covers and originals. Jonathan elevates every set that he is a part of.
Goat Church
Goat Church is a progressive blend of pop/rock bringing electric energy to the stage.
Echoes of the Surreal
Echoes of the Surreal is a rock band from Concord, New Hampshire, inspired by classic and progressive rock. Beginning in 1990 under a different name, the band played for years before taking a long break. After 10 years away, the need to play again returned, and Echoes of the Surreal came to life.
With Kurt on guitar and vocals, Justin on bass, Shane on drums, and Val on vocals and keys, the band is focused on original music that carries pieces of their history while moving into new territory. Songs like Surreal, The Bird Song, and Winter’s Garden mark this new chapter.
Sage & The Tumbleweeds
Sage and the Tumbleweeds is built on original songwriting, blending high energy, jam influenced improvisation with groove driven rhythms and upbeat, feel good tunes. Frontman Sage Brekka -vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter- mixes spontaneity with a good bit of quirky fun. John Andrews adds strong rhythm, melodic leads and lush soundscapes on guitar, along with vocals that broaden the band’s range. Christine Andrews provides the low end on bass guitar with tight, creative grooves, locking in with drummer Parker Howell who brings dynamic driving beats honed in multiple local projects.
Sage, Christine, and John have played together for over 15 years, and in 2025 Parker’s arrival instantly brought the group to a new level of synergy. Drawing from influences in the jam scene – Phish, Goose and other eclectic genre blurring acts- Sage and the Tumbleweeds’ live shows thrive on groove, connection and joy. At their core, they aim to have as much fun as possible on stage and share that positive, infectious energy with every audience.
