Robert Burns Night at the Corner House Inn
Sunday, Jan. 27th marks the 22nd annual celebration of Robert Burns Night at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich. Robert Burns’ Nights are celebrated all over the world – “Wherever there are Scots” – as a way to honor all things Scottish and keep tradition alive.
The event also is meant to celebrate the life and work of Scotland’s greatest poet Robert Burns on the anniversary of his birth in 1759. Before his death at the age of 37, Burns had written close to 600 poems and songs. One of his better-known works is “Auld Lang Syne.”
Orchestrating the evening’s entertainment will be the popular Scottish troupe “Celtic Beats” featuring Campbell Webster on Highland pipes and small pipes, Marielle Webster on fiddle, along with Ross Ketchum on guitar. They will be joined by well-known British Isles storyteller Marion Posner who, accompanied by Kate Vachon, will share some entertaining insights into the Burns Night tradition.
Join us for a fun evening of Highland verse, songs, piping, and a delectable Scottish dinner put on by the talented Corner House culinary team. And….of course, the traditional Haggis is part of the feast!
The festivities begin at 5:30 pm. Highland dress or not. For more information and reservations contact the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich, NH at 284-6219 or online at email@example.com.
