Squam Lakes Association: A Trip on the Lake, Holderness NH

June 23 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Come join the Lakes Region Conservation Corps on Sunday, June 23rd, from 10 AM–2 PM for a trip out on Squam Lake! If you want to learn how to kayak or canoe, or just want to practice, this is the program for you! We will meet at the Squam Lakes Association boat launch for a quick paddling overview and some practice time to help new participants to feel comfortable. We will then put our paddles to the water and venture out onto the lake, where we will take a break at Bowman Island for lunch, and then have a nice paddle back to the SLA. Participants are encouraged to bring any sketching materials or cameras (at their own discretion) on the lake with them, as we can always take breaks to take in the sights.
The SLA will provide kayaks and/or canoes free of charge, although participants are also welcome to bring their own. Paddlers of all ages and experience levels are welcome, though children must be accompanied by an adult.
For more information, or to sign up for this program, visit the SLA events calendar at squamlakes.org/calendar, or call the SLA at 603-968-7336. The SLA offers guided hikes and educational programs throughout the year. All programs are free and open to the public. Adventure Ecology programs are presented by the SLA’s Lakes Region Conservation Corps members, who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission.
The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty, peaceful character and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners the SLA promotes the protection, careful use and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces and wildlife of the Squam Lakes Region.
