Squam Lakes Association Hosts Guided Hike: Belknap Woods, Center Harbor NH

April 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Come join Squam Lakes Association Lakes Region Conservation Corps member Meg for a 2-mile mindful walk through Belknap Woods on April 14 from 2-4:30 PM. You will learn about mindfulness practices and go through some exercise as we walk along the loop trail. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to incorporate these practices into your life, at school, home, or work. This is meant to be a relaxing slow paced walk through the woods, taking in nature and setting time aside in your day to slow down for a bit. You are welcome to bring any journaling supplies if that is something you are interested in trying or have found to be relaxing to you, this is not required though.

Meet at the trailhead to Belknap Woods located off Route 25B   452 NH-25B, Center Harbor, NH 03226

Participants are welcome to bring a sit pad, blanket, journals and writing materials if you would like to journal during our sit spots, but this is not required. Participants should also bring any water for the duration of the program and any food you feel like you might need as well. Bring a positive attitude and open mind to breathe in some of nature’s air.

Participants should also be sure to have appropriate attire and layering for the hike. Weather can change frequently here so please bring extra layers to be prepared for those changes. Trails this time of year can also be muddy so wearing comfortable water resistant hiking shoes or boots you don’t mind getting dirty is best.

For more information, or to sign up for this guided hike, visit the SLA website (squamlakes.org) or contact the SLA directly (603-968-7336). The SLA also offers other guided hikes and Adventure Ecology programming throughout the year. These free programs are open to the public and cover a variety of nature and conservation related topics. The Adventure Ecology programs are presented by the LRCC AmeriCorps members at the SLA who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission.

The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty, peaceful character and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners the SLA promotes the protection, careful use and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces and wildlife of the Squam Lakes Region.
