The Ground Beneath or Feet Soil Tent Exhibit
August 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
The Ground Beneath Our Feet Soil Tent Traveling Exhibit
Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is pleased to present The Ground Beneath Our Feet Soil Tent Traveling Exhibit. This exhibit is a partnership between the U.S. Forest Service, the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program, the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, and the White Mountain National forest. The Soil Tent, a traveling education exhibit, evokes the striking visual experience of entering into the earth with its layers and creatures on display. Each ten-by-ten foot interior face of the Tent represents one of three different ecosystems: forest, meadow, and wetlands. Along with the Tent, a series of hands-on science activities offer visitors the opportunity to deepen their curiosity about and understanding of the soil, and to emerge with new tools for observing their soil environment, wherever they may find themselves.
Cost: The Ground Beneath Our Feet is included in regular trail admission ($22 for adults; $20 for seniors age 65+; $16 for youth ages 3 to 15; free for children 2 and under; free for members)
