11th Annual Labatt Blue New England Pond Hockey Classic – Meredith – Jan 31 – Feb 2, 2020

Great spectator event!  Food, Music and Great Hockey!! Each year since 2010, we unite to celebrate a sport in its most authentic form. We lace up our skates and hit the ice for three days of outdoor hockey and cold Labatt Blue’s. Over 275 teams compete in 500+ games across 26 rinks, bringing our sport back to the basics.

 

Saturday Sleigh Rides  Gunstock Mountain Resort –  Saturdays –  12pm-7pm

Enjoy winter with a two horse-drawn sleigh or carriage ride (depending on weather) through the snow-covered trails at Gunstock. Riders can enjoy an outdoor fire at the mid-point of the ride. 41st Annual Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby February 8 & 9, 2020

The Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby brings anglers and families from all over New England to enjoy the beauty of New Hampshire and also be in the running for over $50,000 in prize awards.

The derby draws participation from all over the country to the scenic Lakes Region of New Hampshire, which provides a great variety of lakes teaming with fish. The region is truly a winter wonderland, and the Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby headquarters is located in the picturesque town of Meredith, NH, a popular tourist destination on the shores of famous Lake Winnipesaukee. There are plenty of lodging options, from rustic to fancy, all nearby to all the lakeside action. There are also plenty of dining options and attractions in the region, which makes the 41st annual fishing derby a great family getaway adventure.

Eastern Snocross Tour Championship  – New Hampshire Motor Speedway – Loudon    February 15-16, 2020

 Snocross will make its debut on the snow-covered dirt track when it rips into Loudon February 15-16, marking the first ever winter event on The Flat Track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

This two-day action-packed event will be round three of seven in the Eastern Snocross Tour Championship sanctioned by International Snowmobile Racing. Pro riders from around the east coast and beyond will compete in two days of action.

Gates open at 3pm on Saturday followed by a free autograph session with the pro riders with racing beginning at 4:30pm followed by the pro final under the lights at 7:15pm. On Sunday, gates open at 9am with racing starting at 10am and the pro final at 3pm.

The course will include a 100-foot frontstretch triple with a rhythm section on the backstretch that will have the fans on their feet. Youth divisions will also take to the track with riders starting as young as six years old.

For snowmobilers riding into this event, The Flat Track is easily accessible off Corridor 15A on the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association’s Trail Map.

91st World Championship Sled Dog Derby  February 14-16, 2020

The Greatest Show on Snow since 1929 will be taking place February 14-16! Join us at the Start/Finish line on Old North Main Street in Laconia or at the Laconia Country Club on Elm Street in Laconia for food, entertainment, dog merchandise and don’t forget the Sled Dogs! Wild Winter Walk: Guided Tour of the Live Animal Exhibit Trail Squam Lakes Natrual Science Center   February 16 @ 1pm-3pm

For adults and families with children ages 6 and up

Have you ever wondered what happens to the animals at the Science Center during the winter? Most of them stay in the same place, just as they would in the wild. Join a staff naturalist for a guided walk on the live animal exhibit trail to see our animal ambassadors dressed in their winter coats and discuss how these native animals are well adapted for winter in New Hampshire. If needed, snowshoes are available at no extra cost or bring your own. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 17th Annual Ice Harvest & Winter Carnival, Remick Muesum – Tamworth Saturday, February 22, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Take part in a historic New England tradition and celebrate winter with family-friendly outdoor activities. Visit farm animals in their winter coats and surroundings, take part in winter games and crafts, watch winter-themed demonstrations, warm up with Remick-made foods and much more. Beginning December 28, guided snowshoe tours are available on Saturdays, leave at 2 p.m. sharp and are $15 per person (rental equipment not included). Interested participants are asked to sign-up and meet at The Mill Main Office (also Pool & Fitness) at least 5 minutes before the start of the tour. Purity Spring Resort in-house guests are welcome to join as a compliment to your stay but we encourage sign-up in advance with the Main Office.
