DESCRIPTION:The Friday following Labor Day brings the Meet of the Lee’s Mills Steamboat Association to Moultonborough\, where as many as fifty steamboats are expected for ten days of activities. This festive event\, the world’s largest annual steamboat meet\, has become a major attraction for Moultonborough and Lake Winnipesaukee. Steamboats will arrive to Moultonborough\, all assembling at the Lee’s Mills docks by the weekend\, with most staying until Sunday\, September 20th\, 2026.\nWhile the schedule of events is subject to change\, visitors to the Annual Steamboat Meet can expect two steamboat parades on Lake Winnipesaukee. On Sunday\, September 13th\, 2026\, steamboats will leave Lee’s Mills at 2pm for Moultonborough Bay. On Saturday\, September 19th\, 2026\, steamboats will parade to Green’s Basin at 10am. This year\, Castle in the Clouds will debut a new exhibition\, From Private Estate to Public Treasure: Lucknow after Thomas and Olive Plant. This exhibit features stories\, photographs\, and memorabilia of the various owners of the Lucknow Estate before the Castle Preservation Society (CPS) was founded in 2006 to manage the estate as a public attraction and museum. \nThis year marks the 20th anniversary of CPS\, which is responsible for the ongoing care and restoration of the Lucknow Mansion and Estate. “This is a pivotal year for the Castle Preservation Society since we are concluding our current strategic plan and continuing to plan for the future of Castle in the Clouds\,” said Charles Clark\, Executive Director of CPS. “Our entire team of staff\, board and volunteers are extremely proud of all we have accomplished in the past 20 years\, including the significant renovations to the Lucknow Estate which are either complete or scheduled for completion this year.” \nIn 2025\, the U.S. Department of the Interior designated the Lucknow Estate as a National Historic Landmark (NHL). An NHL designation is the highest federal recognition of a property’s historical\, architectural or archaeological significance. This designation for the Lucknow Estate is a testament to the efforts of CPS and the Lakes Region Conservation Trust to care for the property. \nThroughout this season\, Castle in the Clouds will offer 200+ public program sessions\, including classes and workshops\, a presentation on the history of Ossipee Park\, a production of Romeo and Juliet from Advice to the Players\, and many other community events. The full calendar of programs and events can be found on the Castle in the Clouds website. \nThe 2026 season runs from May 23 to October 25. The property is open to visitors daily. Guests are encouraged to enter the property via the Historic Entrance. The original driveway to the Estate was repaved at the end of 2025\, and provides an amazing introductory experience to any Castle visit. DESCRIPTION:  \nFROM SAILS TO ATOMS: THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD \nTEMPORARY EXHIBIT \n\n\nIn celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States\, the Wright Museum will be highlighting one of New England’s most enduring contributions to the nation’s history: the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. \nOfficially established as a federal navy yard in 1800\, but the home of shipbuilding as early as the 1600s\, PNSY has a long and storied history. In it’s early days\, notable ships such as the USS Washington and USS Congress were built there. In 1855\, the shipyard was also responsible for the overhaul of “Old Ironsides\,” the USS Constitution. \nThe first submarine built at the shipyard was the USS L-8 in 1917. During World War II\, the shipyard’s production of submarines was prolific\, tallying more than 70 subs\, including a record 4 launched in a single day. Featuring historic objects\, videos and interactives\, this exhibit is great for all ages. \nTo dedicate the exhibit\, a special ceremony will take place at 10:00am on May 16\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:LRAA members have the opportunity to enter a piece of artwork into the Artist of the Month Program at each monthly Member Meeting. Chill out with some scrumptious homemade soup and sandwiches and enjoy the art while you eat! DESCRIPTION:Chromatic Nature Acrylic Painting Exhibit by Tracy Levesque: September 2-October 24 at the McLane Center in Concord \nArt exhibit viewing access may be restricted during private event rentals. Calling ahead to confirm is recommended.  603-224-9909 \nThe exhibit will feature a curated collection of Levesque’s vibrant acrylic paintings of New England’s incredible nature\, landscape and wildlife. \n  \n\n\n\n\nTracy Levesque Bio/Process: Tracy Levesque’s chromatic acrylic paintings blur the line between fine art and illustration. Reminiscent of stained glass\, each painting is constructed of translucent layers of paint\, three dimensionally sculpted and carved palette knife texture and delicate fine line brush detail. Levesque’s stunning visual style creates a dramatic interplay between fantasy and bold realism inviting viewers to engage with the intricacies of the natural world and the profoundly spiritual nature of landscape. \nLevesque’s work challenges conventional perceptions of reality transforming her art into a dynamic experience that shifts the viewer’s perspective. Each piece commands the viewer to look at nature as an infinite collection of details\, an organic managerie of patterns and shapes that come together to create an awe-inspiring story. Levesque’s paintings are more than just painted representations on canvas\, they are love songs to nature and an invitation to the viewer to take a thoughtful journey into how we perceive our surroundings. \nTracy Levesque is a New England based fine artist who was born in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts and is currently working out of her studio at Western Avenue Studios in the Merrimack Valley in Lowell\, Massachusetts. Levesque graduated from Brandeis University with honors in Theater Arts and English and American Literature.
