Ranking as one of the resort’s most popular adventures\, Gunstock’s mountain coaster carries riders uphill through the forest before letting gravity take charge. The downhill track curves\, banks and loops its way down the mountain\, winding through the trees. Riders can easily control their own speed as each cart is equipped with its own braking system\, allowing guests to choose between a gentle cruise or thrilling race down the mountain at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. Coaster carts can be ridden by a solo driver or with an additional passenger. \nFor guests looking for an adrenaline rush\, Gunstock’s Zipline Tours and Aerial Treetop Adventure course take adventure to new heights. Visitors soar from peak to peak\, and peak to base\, on the 90-minute ZipTour experience. Measuring a total of 1.6 miles\, Gunstock offers one of the longest zipline networks in the continental United States. Tours are guided and guests can control their own speed\, reaching a maximum of 70 miles per hour. \nEight high-ropes courses consisting of 81 challenge features make up Gunstock’s Aerial Treetop Adventure course. Suspended within the trees\, guests will explore a bird’s-eye view of the mountain while tackling features like log ladders\, bridges\, swings\, seesaws\, and ziplines. Each course increases in difficulty and height as visitors advance. There’s even an Explorer Course\, perfect for children ages 6-11. \nScenic Chairlift Rides are another popular choice of adventure\, offering a relaxed\, seated ride to the summit where guests are met with sweeping views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains beyond. Scenic Chairlift Rides are anticipated to open Independence Day Weekend\, following upgrades being performed on the Panorama chairlift. \nWhen searching for refreshment between adventures\, guests will find slopeside dining at Barrel Bar & Grille\, located within the Stockade Lodge. Enjoy indoor or outdoor\, full-service dining with a lunch menu that is sure to please. DESCRIPTION:Live Animal Trail at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center celebrating our 60th anniversary year. \nOpen meadows\, mature forests\, and marsh boardwalks connect interactive natural exhibits where native animals reside: black bear\, mountain lion\, raptors\, river otter\, bobcat\, and more. \nTrails are open through November 1\, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last trail admission at 3:30 p.m.) \nFor 60 years\, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center has been a favorite destination\, bringing joy\, connection\, and\nwonder to generations of visitors through the Live Animal Exhibit Trail\, natural science education programs\,\nguided Squam Lake Cruises and the vibrant charm of Kirkwood Gardens. The Science Center is Certified Sensory\nInclusive by KultureCity. Plan at least two and a half hours to walk the Live Animal Exhibit Trail.\nCost: Trail rates for 2026 are $30 for adults; $28 for seniors (age 65+); $24 for youth (ages 3-15); free for children\n2 and under and Science Center members.
