SUMMARY:Little Sprouts - Moulton Farm\, Meredith NH
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday mornings in July and August\, children ages 4 to 9 can explore nature\, farming\, and flowers through Little Sprouts at Moulton Farm. Each fun filled session combines learning with a hands-on activity such as a craft\, planting\, or a game. Some weeks include tractor rides or visits with special guests from the Moulton Farm team. Children can attend one session\, several sessions\, or all seven sessions. \nThe children are accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult and the farm’s facilitator\, Mikala Kelley. A member of the Moulton Farm team since 2017\, Kelley has a degree in conservation and experience running outdoor education programs for kids in Maine and Massachusetts. Having worked in every area of Moulton Farm except the farm’s kitchen\, she’s adding new activities and elements to the farm’s popular summer children’s program. \n“As the mother of two young children\, I understand how curious kids are and how much they like exploring\,” says Kelley. “We’ll have different activities as part of each session\, so there’s something to keep the kids engaged. I’ve got a few surprises planned that I’m sure will get kids laughing and asking questions.” \nThe Wednesday sessions start at 10:30 am\, run approximately 90 minutes\, and are held rain or shine. Each week will have a different theme. The current schedule\, which is subject to change depending on farm needs and weather\, is as follows: \n\nJuly 8: Planting a Garden\nJuly 15: Hydroponics & Growing in Greenhouses\nJuly 22: What Happens in Our Garden Center\nJuly 29: Colors Around Our Farm and Fields\n\nNo session on August 5th \n\nAug 12: Farm to Table\nAug 19: All About Flowers and Pollinators\nAug 26: Tops and Bottoms Veggie Hunt\n\n  \nEach session costs $20 per child\, or a season ticket can be purchased for $130\, which covers all seven sessions in the series and includes a free t-shirt. There is no cost for the adult who accompanies the children. Purchasing tickets at least two days before a session is encouraged as space is limited. Gunstock’s Adventure Park includes a mountain coaster\, zipline tours\, an aerial treetop challenge course\, and later in the summer\, scenic chairlift rides on the Panorama lift. Gunstock’s 262-Site Campground will operate daily from May 22 through October 18. \n\n\n\nBOOK YOUR STAY\n\n\n\n“People who are only familiar with Gunstock as a destination for winter sports are often surprised to discover we’re a hot spot for summer camping and adventure too\,” said Gunstock President and General Manager Robert Drake. “Locals and visitors to the Lakes Region love the range of activities and events we offer in the summer.” \nThe Gunstock Adventure Park offers its visitors a variety of thrilling fun. Ranking as one of the resort’s most popular adventures\, Gunstock’s mountain coaster carries riders uphill through the forest before letting gravity take charge. The downhill track curves\, banks and loops its way down the mountain\, winding through the trees. Riders can easily control their own speed as each cart is equipped with its own braking system\, allowing guests to choose between a gentle cruise or thrilling race down the mountain at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. Coaster carts can be ridden by a solo driver or with an additional passenger. \nFor guests looking for an adrenaline rush\, Gunstock’s Zipline Tours and Aerial Treetop Adventure course take adventure to new heights. Visitors soar from peak to peak\, and peak to base\, on the 90-minute ZipTour experience.
