Do you find yourself wondering about the identities of plants and animals you encounter? Join Lakes Region Conservation Corps members on Wednesday\, March 27th from 2-4pm on a relaxed 1.2-mile hike around NH Audubon’s Proctor Wildlife Sanctuary and learn how the free iNaturalist app can help you learn more about the world around you. Everything we identify can be submitted to the iNaturalist database to become part of one of the world’s largest citizen science projects! \nAll ages are welcome to join\, but children must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to learn how to use iNaturalist\, please download the app (available on iOS and Android) and create an account before coming to the program. This is not necessary to participate; you can also look on with another participant or just enjoy a nice stroll in the woods. Please be dressed appropriately for the weather\, and note that the ground may be very muddy! This will be a short\, not very strenuous walk\, and we will be stopping frequently to identify wildlife. Nonetheless\, please bring water and a snack if you would like. \nThroughout the year\, the Squam Lakes Association offers free programs open to the public on a variety of nature and conservation related topics. The Adventure Ecology programs are presented by the Lakes Region Conservation Corps members who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission. For more information\, and to register\, visit squamlakes.org/calendar. \nThe Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty\, peaceful character and resources of the watershed.
