SUMMARY:Stargazing at Squam - Squam Lakes Association\, Holderness NH
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, November 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm\, the Squam Lakes Association will be hosting an introductory stargazing workshop. What better place to gaze at the stars than at Squam Lake! SLA is honored to welcome back Phil Babcock from the New Hampshire Astronomical Society who will show us exciting celestial objects through binoculars and telescopes. We will learn all about stargazing 101\, such as recommended materials\, how to use a sky chart\, and how to spot some important constellations. After our indoor interactive lesson\, we will head down by the water under the nearly new moon. This is a great event for all ages to spend some time outside and explore the night sky. Backup date is Sat\, Nov 22 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Registration is required for this free event. \nFor more information\, or to sign up for this Adventure Ecology program\, visit the SLA website (squamlakes.org) or contact the SLA directly (603-968-7336). The SLA also offers other Adventure Ecology programs throughout the year. These free programs are open to the public and cover a variety of nature and conservation related topics. The Adventure Ecology programs are presented by the LRCC AmeriCorps members at the SLA who perform important conservation work in support of the Association’s mission. \nThe Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty\, peaceful character and resources of the watershed.
