SUMMARY:Little Sprouts - Moulton Farm\, Meredith NH
DESCRIPTION:A fun way to connect kids with agriculture\, the outdoors\, and healthier eating\n\n\n\nLittle Sprouts Program at Moulton Farm Connects Kids with Growing Food  \nKids explore farming\, nature and food each week in July and August  \nOn many Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during July and August\, children will be exploring something most of us overlook: how farmers grow our food.  As part of the “Little Sprouts at Moulton Farm” series\, children ages 5 to 9 will have a hands-on experience learning how vegetables are grown and get to try everything from planting to harvesting.  \nThe children will learn about how different plants grow\, pollinators\, the seasons\, and weather. During the approximately 90 minute sessions\, kids participate in an activity related to the topic of the day’s session.  This may involve taking a tractor ride into the farm’s fields to see how a certain type of food is growing\, and then returning to plant in the kid’s vegetable garden. Explorations might include venturing into the farm’s high tunnels where tomato plants can grow as high as 8 or 9 feet.  In another session\, the topic may focus on rain and the farm’s irrigation pond.   \nSessions are held on select days in July and August. Children can attend one session\, several sessions\, or all seven sessions in a series. This year\, two different series are offered. One series is on Tuesdays\, and the other is on Wednesdays. Both series cover similar content and are held regardless of the weather. Children must be accompanied during each session by the parent or other adult who brought them to the farm.  \nEach session costs $20 per child\, or a season ticket can be purchased for $125\, which covers all seven sessions in a series and includes a free t-shirt. There is no cost for the adult who accompanies the children. Each session is open to children who are five to nine years old. Purchasing tickets at least two days before a session is encouraged as space is limited.  Season ticket holders are guaranteed a spot in each session.   \nPurchase tickets at MoultonFarm.com or at the farm’s market\, which is open 7 days a week\, or call the farm at 603-279-3915. Sessions are held rain or shine. \nOur 2025 sessions are : \nTuesday\, July 8\, at 10 amWednesday\, July 9\, at 10 amTuesday\, July 15\, at 10 am \nWednesday\, July 16\, at 10 am \nTuesday\, July 22\, at 10 am \nWednesday\, July 23\, at 10 am \nTuesday\, July 29\, at 10 am \nWednesday\, July 30\, at 10 am \nTuesday\, August 5\, at 10 amWednesday\, August 6\, at 10 am \nTuesday\, August 12\, at 10 am \nWednesday\, August 13\, at 10 am \nTuesday\, August 19\, at 10 am \nWednesday\, August 20\, at 10 am \n \n \nPurchase your tickets on line at https://www.moultonfarm.com/little-sprouts  or at our farm market. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLittle Sprouts Individual Days\n$20.00Price\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLittle Sprouts Season Pass\n$125.00Price\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMoulton Farm / 18 Quarry Rd.(off Rte.25) / Meredith NH\n603-279-3915

SUMMARY:Ceramic Artist Tori Motyl - Meredith League of NH Craftsmen Fine Craft Gallery\, Meredith NH
DESCRIPTION:The Meredith League of New Hampshire Craftsmen Fine Craft Gallery is delighted to welcome 2025 juried member ceramic artist Tori Motyl\, known for her striking and large-scale vessel pottery. This bold body of work explores the intersection of form\, scale\, and material\, pushing the boundaries of traditional pottery into the realm of contemporary sculpture. \nTori grew up in New York and from her early years she began working with clay which stayed with her throughout college and into her adult years. Tori’s journey brought her to Asheville\, North Carolina where she did an apprenticeship that developed her love for big vessels. So from beginning with dinnerware\, Tori’s focus went to over-sized terracotta pieces that create their own presence in a room. \nTori’s signature large vessels combine ancient techniques with a modern sensibility\, showcasing the raw beauty of clay through powerful silhouettes and earthy glazes. Each piece balances strength and abstraction\, reflecting themes of endurance\, transformation\, and timelessness. Tori’s vessels are rooted in tradition\, but their scale and presence transform them into something more contemplative and architectural. She designs her beautiful vessels to be in harmony with their space\, whether inside or outdoors. \nTori Motyl’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation as seen in her monolithic pots are magnificent and inspiring. The Meredith Fine Craft Gallery is proud to display Tori’s striking work and invite you to stop by for a visit. For more information please call the Gallery at 603-279-7920 or visit our web site Meredith.nhcrafts.org. The League of NH Craftsmen Gallery is located at 279 DW Hwy. Meredith\, NH.

SUMMARY:New Exhibit: “Threads of Innovation” - Belknap Mill\, Laconia NH
DESCRIPTION:The Belknap Mill\, the oldest unaltered brick textile mill in the United States\, is\nproud to announce the opening of its newest permanent exhibit\, “Threads of Innovation\,”\ndebuting to the public on Friday\, June 6\, 2025.\nThis thoughtfully curated exhibit explores the Belknap Mill’s pivotal role as a leader in early\nindustrial efficiency and innovation. At its center is the c. 1890s freight elevator\, a key\ntechnological advancement that allowed seamless movement of materials between floors. This\ninnovation supported a vertically integrated production process\, allowing raw cotton to be\ntransformed into finished cloth entirely under one roof.\n“Threads of Innovation” offers a hands-on and immersive experience that highlights the Mill’s\ngroundbreaking approach to organization and manufacturing — a model that helped shape the\nstructure of modern industry.\n“The Belknap Mill is not only a symbol of Laconia’s industrial heritage but also of the ingenuity\nand adaptation that defined early American manufacturing\,” said Dr. Katherine\nSwitala-Elmhurst\, Vice Chair of the Board at the Belknap Mill. “This new exhibit brings that\nlegacy to life in a powerful and accessible way.”\nTo mark the exhibit’s opening and celebrate summer\, the Belknap Mill will also host a free\noutdoor concert as part of its First Friday festivities. Enjoy the swinging sounds of the Freese\nBrothers Big Band performing live jazz and swing in Rotary Riverside Park at 6:00 PM. Bring a\nblanket or lawn chair and relax by the Winnipesaukee River for a fun and festive evening!\nThread of Innovation will be available to all visitors during regular museum hours:\nWednesday–Thursday from 12–4 PM and Friday- Saturdays from 10–4 PM. Admission is $10\nfor adults\, $5 for seniors and students\, and free for children under 12 and Mill members.\nVisitors are also encouraged to explore the Mill’s featured art exhibition in the Riverside Art\nGallery: “Unscripted” by Grace Howe\, throughout June.\nFor more information\, please visit www.belknapmill.org or follow the Belknap Mill on Facebook\nand Instagram for updates. \nBelknap Mill Museum / 25 Beacon Street East / Laconia\, NH 03246 \nwww.Belknapmill.org \n(603) 524-8813

SUMMARY:Loon Center Presentation - The Loon Center\, Moultonborough NH
DESCRIPTION:For many\, the haunting call of the loon is an important part of the New Hampshire lake experience. Often seen as a symbol of the northern wilderness\, loons are a beloved fixture on New Hampshire lakes\, and many lakegoers enjoy watching them as they raise their young. However\, the breeding season can be a vulnerable time for loons—they face many threats\, both natural and human-caused\, while on our lakes. This presentation will focus on the biology and life history of loons\, the threats that loons face\, and the work that the Loon Preservation Committee and our volunteers have performed since 1975 to help recover New Hampshire’s threatened loon population. \n\nThe Loon Center\n\n\n183 Lees Mill Road\nMoultonborough\, NH\n603-476-5666
