SUMMARY:A Favorable Forecast Keeps the Cog Climbing - Mount Washington Cog Railway\, Mt. Washington NH
DESCRIPTION:When the mountain offers an opportunity\, the Mount Washington Cog Railway is ready to climb. With favorable weather predicted this week\, the railway is quickly adjusting its Post-Season Schedule and starting two-hour round-trip excursions to the summit of Mount Washington\, continuing through Sunday\, November 1. \nThe Cog had originally scheduled mid-mountain trips to Waumbek Station during this period. Now\, with the improving forecast\, those same departures will travel to the summit instead. Mid-mountain excursions to Waumbek Station are scheduled to resume next week. \nThe change reflects the railway’s ability to turn a favorable forecast into an opportunity for visitors. By adjusting destinations while keeping departure times unchanged\, the Cog can extend its summit season without requiring guests to rearrange their travel plans. \nDaily departures will be offered at: \n\n9:00 a.m.\n10:15 a.m.\n11:30 a.m.\n12:45 p.m.\n2:00 p.m.\n3:00 p.m.\n\nGuests should note that the New Hampshire State Park visitor center at the summit will remain closed to the public during this extended service period\, although park staff will be on site. \nSummit excursions are scheduled through November 1\, with operations subject to mountain weather conditions. For complete information\, schedule\, tickets and much more\, visit thecog.com \n\nMount Washington Cog Railway\n\n3168 Base Station Road \nMount Washington\, NH 03589 \n603.278.2255

SUMMARY:Trails for Walking & Winter Activities at Canterbury Shaker Village\, Canterbury NH
DESCRIPTION:Canterbury Shaker Village in Canterbury\, New Hampshire\, features about 4 miles of walking trails with 5 mill ponds winding across its nearly 700-acre historic property.\nKey Trail Information\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPopular Routes: Includes the Mill Pond Trail (0.8 miles) and the Meadow Pond Trail (1.7 miles).\n\n\n\n\nLandscape: The paths meander through peaceful forests\, open fields\, and past historic ponds.\n\n\n\n\nTrail Map: You can view or download the official path layout directly from the Canterbury Shaker Village Trail Map page.\n\n\n\n\nAccess: Exploring the grounds and trails is part of the experience at the Canterbury Shaker Village Official Site.\n\nThe Village grounds and trails are open every day\, year-round from dawn to dusk\, and free to visit. Maps are available at the kiosk under the breezeway adjacent to the parking area. You can view the Village Map and Trail Map online ahead of your visit. \nThe best marked trail takes visitors around Turning Mill Pond\, where they can see the historic Pump House\, beaver dams and human dams\, and enjoy the flora and fauna of this beautiful and serene site. The trail takes about 30 minutes to walk. \n\n \n  \n\nWhile the historic buildings are closed for regular museum tours during the winter months\, the sprawling property transforms into a quiet winter wonderland. The site features nearly 700 acres of protected forests\, open pastures\, and scenic mill ponds under permanent conservation easement\, offering an incredibly peaceful and historic backdrop for winter recreation.\n\n\n\nWhat to Expect on the Trails\n \n\n\n\n\nUngroomed Trails: The village provides 4  miles of nature trails. However\, trails are not mechanically groomed for cross-country skiing. It is entirely a “make your own tracks” or backcountry Nordic skiing experience. If you love uncrowded\, pristine snow\, this is a gem.\n\n \n\n\n\nFree and Open to the Public: The grounds and trails are open year-round from dawn to dusk at no charge. You can easily park and head right out into the fields.\n\n \n\n\n\nTrail Layout: Popular winter loops include the short\, family-friendly Turning Mill Pond Loop (about 1.7 miles) and the Carding Mill Trail. Both options take you past scenic historic stone dams\, frozen ponds\, and snow-laden woods.\n\n \n\n\n\nNo On-Site Rentals: There are no ski or snowshoe rentals available at the property. You must bring your own gear.\n\nCanterbury Shaker Village /  288 Shaker Rd.  /  Canterbury NH

SUMMARY:Brass Against - Halloween Tour - Capital Center for the Arts/Bank of NH Stage\, Concord NH
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, October 30\, 2026\n7:31 PM\nBNH Stage\, 16 S Main St\, Concord NH\nMusic\n\n6:30 PM Doors\n7:31 PM Showtime\n$35-$58\nTickets\nHuman existence depends on using music to make a statement and inspire change. These days\, that call sounds like the fusion of a brass band\, heavy rock\, and powerful vocals from a group called Brass Against. \nCurated by Brad Hammonds and led musically by baritone saxophonist Andrew Gutauskas\, Brass Against began in 2017 as a musical response to the divisive tones of the time. Their viral cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name” launched a movement blending political activism with genre-defying sound.\nWhat began as fiery covers of Rage\, Tool\, Soundgarden\, and Black Sabbath has evolved into a dynamic collective of jazz-rooted musicians\, releasing five albums and bringing their explosive energy to audiences around the world. From Glastonbury to Java Jazz\, from opening for Tool to sharing stages with Slipknot and Lenny Kravitz\, Brass Against has made their mark.\nTheir version of “Wake Up” was featured in the credits of Matrix: Resurrections\, and they recently completed scoring Uppercut\, a Lionsgate feature film starring Ving Rhames.\nBrass Against isn’t just about performance—it’s about passion\, purpose\, and a call to action. Rage. Energy. Motivation. Community. They’re the soundtrack to the moment—and a rallying cry for what comes next.\n\nVIP Experiences include: \n\nEarly entrance and crowd-free merchandise shopping\nA commemorative piece of merchandise\nIndividual photo opportunity with Brass Against\nAutograph session with Brass Against\nGroup question and answer session with Brass Against — ask your most burning question!\nPrivate performance by Brass Against\n\nAlready have your tickets\, and want upgrade to VIP?
