SUMMARY:Andrea Paquin - Capital Center for the Arts/Bank of NH Stage\, Concord NH
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 25\, 2026\n3:00 PM Doors Open\n4:00 PM Showtime\n$22-$27\nTickets\n\n\nBNH Stage\, 16 S Main St\, Concord NH\n\n\n\n\nALBUM RELEASE CONCERT!!! Andrea spent some time in LA at 64 Sound in Los Angeles this summer and will be releasing and performing the songs that came to life in the studio! It has been 15 years since her last release!! Come and hear Andrea’s new songs along with her full band!\nAbout Andrea….\nAndrea Paquin discovered her deep connection to music at a young age. After years of longing for an instrument\, she finally received her first guitar and began her self-taught journey. Her passion was ignited with Crosby\, Stills\, Nash\, and Young’s Helpless\, which she played tirelessly until perfecting it. This marked the start of an impressive musical career. Over time\, Andrea mastered guitar\, bass\, harmonica\, and vocals\, creating a rich\, multifaceted sound that defines her artistry.\nFor a decade\, Andrea played bass and sang harmonies with the band The Everyday Visuals\, gaining invaluable experience on stage and in the studio. After 10 years\, she pursued her dream of writing and performing her own music\, producing five albums to date. Andrea’s unique blend of folk rock tells vivid stories through clever melodies\, intricate harmonies\, and poignant lyrics. Her sound has drawn comparisons to The Indigo Girls\, Melissa Etheridge\, Tracy Chapman\, and Joni Mitchell\, earning her a loyal fanbase.\nAndrea’s music has captured the attention of critics\, with Nathalie Levey of Northeast Performer Magazine praising her voice as “rich\, cozy humility” that “tugs at the heartstrings of her listeners.” She has shared stages with acclaimed artists like Melissa Ferrick\, Howie Day\, and Blessed Union of Souls and performed at prestigious events\, including Pride festivals across the U.S. and the Raise the Roof Women’s Music Festival in Ontario\, Canada.\nHer songwriting talents have also been recognized in competitions. Andrea was a finalist in the 2011 CT Folk Festival Songwriting Competition\, as well as in Country 92.5’s Locals Live\, which earned her a performance spot at Mohegan Sun’s renowned Wolf Den. In 2013\, she was named RAW Music Artist of the Year for Connecticut. Andrea works with several booking agents throughout the Northeast\, reflecting her growing demand as an artist. Many venues she performs at frequently request her return\, a testament to the connection she forges with her audiences and the memorable experiences she creates.\nAndrea was invited to perform at The Stargaze Festival in Massachusetts for the second year in a row. Radha Hilery\, festival reporter says “Andrea is more than just a singer-songwriter — she’s a storyteller with soul. With a voice that can both stir your spirit and soothe your heart\, Andrea’s music is raw\, real\, and deeply human. Her lyrics explore love\, life\, loss\, and liberation with a rare honesty that invites us all to feel a little more deeply and connect a little more authentically. We are so honored to have Andrea back in the woods with us. Her presence last year was unforgettable\, and if you were there\, you know just how magical it was. If this is your first time catching her live — get ready to fall in love.”\nIn addition to her musical career\, Andrea has been working in the field of human services for over 30 years. She currently serves as a clinical coordinator for a nonprofit agency in Connecticut\, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. Andrea frequently volunteers her time\, performing at local events to benefit nonprofit organizations. During the COVID-19 pandemic\, she hosted weekly live-stream concerts every Thursday night\, giving individuals in group homes and their families a safe and meaningful way to connect during such a challenging time.\nAndrea’s deep commitment to helping others is seamlessly intertwined with her passion for music. Whether raising funds for charitable causes or creating spaces for connection\, Andrea continues to inspire through her artistry and dedication

SUMMARY:From Sails to Atoms: The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Exhibit - Wright Museum of World War II\, Wolfeboro NH
DESCRIPTION:  \nFROM SAILS TO ATOMS: THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD \nTEMPORARY EXHIBIT \n\n\nIn celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States\, the Wright Museum will be highlighting one of New England’s most enduring contributions to the nation’s history: the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. \nOfficially established as a federal navy yard in 1800\, but the home of shipbuilding as early as the 1600s\, PNSY has a long and storied history. In it’s early days\, notable ships such as the USS Washington and USS Congress were built there. In 1855\, the shipyard was also responsible for the overhaul of “Old Ironsides\,” the USS Constitution. \nThe first submarine built at the shipyard was the USS L-8 in 1917. During World War II\, the shipyard’s production of submarines was prolific\, tallying more than 70 subs\, including a record 4 launched in a single day. In the Cold War era\, the yard was also home to the construction of the revolutionary USS Albacore\, the first teardrop-hull submarine. \nFeaturing vivid images and unique interactive activities\, this special exhibit will explore all of this history\, and more! \nExhibit runs May 1 – October 31\, 2026. \nPhoto:  The USS Shad is launched at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on April 15\, 1942.
