Visit here to buy tickets online. \nThe Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is open for the 2026 season with expanded accessibility improvements and a full slate of programs highlighting Native American history\, art\, and culture. \nHeadlining the season is a new exhibit\, Quills & Beads: Adornment that Adapts\, curated by Sterling Gross. Tracing the evolution of Native American adornment—from traditional porcupine quillwork to the intricate beadwork that emerged following the introduction of European glass beads—the exhibit features rare pieces on public display for the first time. \n“Our new exhibit invites visitors to look closely at the artistry\, but also at the adaptation and resilience these pieces represent\,” said Executive Director Andrew Bullock. “Quillwork and beadwork are living traditions\, and we’re honored to share this collection with our community and with visitors traveling the Museum Trail this season.” \nIn addition to the new exhibit\, the museum has completed several accessibility upgrades ahead of opening day. The Medicine Woods Trail—an outdoor walking path featuring plants traditionally used by Native peoples for food\, medicine\, and craft—is now fully accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Renovations to on-site restrooms and pathways have also been completed to better serve visitors of all abilities. \nMt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is one of nearly two dozen museums on the NH Heritage Museum Trail\, which features members in the Lakes Region\, White Mountains\, Dartmouth-Sunapee Region\, Merrimack Valley\, and Seacoast. To learn more about the NH Heritage Museum Trail\, visit nhmuseumtrail.org. \nMt. Kearsarge Indian Museum / 18 Highlawn Rd. / Warner NH \n603-456-2600

SUMMARY:May Featured Artists & Welcoming Marguerite Mcbride - Artistic Roots\, Plymouth NH
DESCRIPTION:Featured artists for the month of May are Tim Curry\, wood turner; Wendy Ambrusen\,  beader; photographer\, Robert Heiner; carver\, Barbara McAllister; potter\, Joan Glidden; and multi-media artist\, Amy Thurber. Come see their work at Artistic Roots and that of our other artisans.  Artistic Roots is open daily from 10-5. \n \nArtistic Roots welcomes new member\, Marguerite Bride. Marguerite Bride has been painting watercolors for over 30 years now. Before moving to the Lakes District last May\, she lived and worked as a full-time artist and teacher in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. She especially loves painting scenes of bustling towns and historic settings….and if there is snow involved\, all the better.  Over the years\, painting portraits of homes has become her specialty. “After leaving a high-tech career in 1994\, I had no idea a new career in art would be in my future. I just knew I loved creating and wanted to learn as much as I could. A few lessons at the local art school eventually led to taking all the art courses at the community college\, and then years of practice.  That’s how it started. In 1999 I summoned up the courage to show some work to a small cooperative gallery\, was invited to join\, and that began my “public” art career.” \nHer website holds her full portfolio…you will see a wide variety of subjects captured in her paintings\, such as many of her house portraits\, bustling marketplaces\, bucolic farmlands\, quaint villages\, street scenes\, lighthouses\, landscapes and seacoasts\, JAZZ series\, nature inspired paintings and lots and lots of buildings…and that’s just to name a few. \nArtistic Roots / 73 Main Street / Plymouth NH \n603-536-2750    www.artisticroots.com

Well here’s your chance with the Meet the Wine & Cider Makers “tour.” You’ll be talking to the person who is on the floor actually making everything you’re trying. That’s right\, no hired stand in or mouthpiece; the person who crafted that beverage from conception to labeling. Come join us on Wednesday or Saturday for a special inside look at our cidery & winery. This event will include six tasting of a variety of different craft beverages made right in the room that you’ll be standing in.
