DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 12\, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.\, New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) will host the annual New England Vintage Boat Auction with hundreds of people expected to attend in-person and online. \n“Items range from canoes and sunfishes to highly sought-after antique wooden boats—the variety is what is fun about our auction\,” said Betsy Farley\, who co-chairs the event. “We always have great barn finds as well as ready-to-go-in-the-water boats.” \nOther items include lake memorabilia\, paintings\, rare books\, magazines\, and even unique parts of boats. \nAccording to Farley\, many owners donate boats to the auction. “Boat donations are fantastic because 100% of earnings go directly to the museum\,” she said. “NHBM also takes boat consignments that are screened before being accepted.” \nBoats and other items at this year’s New England Vintage Boat Auction will be displayed online and at the Nicholas J. Pernokas Recreation Park (The Nick) in Wolfeboro for the general public to view on Thursday\, July 10 and Friday\, July 11 from noon to 5:00 p.m. “Many times\, the actual owners of the boats are there\,” added Farley.” It gives people the chance to talk to them\, and learn the boat’s history\, strengths\, and weaknesses.” \nLive bidding begins on Saturday\, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. Bidder registration is free. DESCRIPTION:The Belknap Mill\, the oldest unaltered brick textile mill in the United States\, is\nproud to announce the opening of its newest permanent exhibit\, “Threads of Innovation\,”\ndebuting to the public on Friday\, June 6\, 2025.\nThis thoughtfully curated exhibit explores the Belknap Mill’s pivotal role as a leader in early\nindustrial efficiency and innovation. At its center is the c. 1890s freight elevator\, a key\ntechnological advancement that allowed seamless movement of materials between floors. This\ninnovation supported a vertically integrated production process\, allowing raw cotton to be\ntransformed into finished cloth entirely under one roof.\n“Threads of Innovation” offers a hands-on and immersive experience that highlights the Mill’s\ngroundbreaking approach to organization and manufacturing — a model that helped shape the\nstructure of modern industry.\n“The Belknap Mill is not only a symbol of Laconia’s industrial heritage but also of the ingenuity\nand adaptation that defined early American manufacturing\,” said Dr. Katherine\nSwitala-Elmhurst\, Vice Chair of the Board at the Belknap Mill. “This new exhibit brings that\nlegacy to life in a powerful and accessible way.”\nTo mark the exhibit’s opening and celebrate summer\, the Belknap Mill will also host a free\noutdoor concert as part of its First Friday festivities. So from beginning with dinnerware\, Tori’s focus went to over-sized terracotta pieces that create their own presence in a room. \nTori’s signature large vessels combine ancient techniques with a modern sensibility\, showcasing the raw beauty of clay through powerful silhouettes and earthy glazes. Each piece balances strength and abstraction\, reflecting themes of endurance\, transformation\, and timelessness. Tori’s vessels are rooted in tradition\, but their scale and presence transform them into something more contemplative and architectural. She designs her beautiful vessels to be in harmony with their space\, whether inside or outdoors. \nTori Motyl’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation as seen in her monolithic pots are magnificent and inspiring. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the League of NH Craftsmen – Meredith Fine Craft Gallery on\nSaturday\, July 12 th 2025 from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm for a Sparkly Tube Set Earrings Class\nwith juried artist Joy Raskin.\nIn this class students will make one or two pairs of earrings using sparkly faceted gemstones set\nin sterling silver tube bezels. Students can make a pair of 5mm or 6mm tube-set stud earrings\nwith posts\, and a pair of dangle earrings that have 1 or 2 or even 3 sparkly gems set. Students\nwill be using sterling silver commercial tube bezels\, cubic zirconia\, and other natural gemstones\nsuch as peridot\, citrine\, garnet\, amethyst\, and more. Materials are not required\, but students are\nwelcome to bring in any round faceted gemstones between 3mm and 10mm. Estimated cost of\nmaterials is $10 to $50 depending on which stones students choose and how much silver they\nuse.\nTuition is $75.00 per student. Materials fee is between $10-$50 depending on the materials\nused. Their show “Back to the Sound of Motown” celebrates the greatest songs ever. Brothers Andrew\, Michael Tierney\, and Toby Allen are three of the greatest vocal harmony singers in the world. Smokey Robinson first introduced Human Nature to the United States and said they are “Making Motown Proud – a must-see show!” \nAll shows unless indicated are approximately 90 minutes long.
