SUMMARY:Warner Skywatch at the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum\, Warner NH
DESCRIPTION:FREE SKYWATCH EVENT! \nMembers of the New Hampshire Astronomical Society will set up telescopes (including one you can check out from your local Pillsbury Free Library!) for night sky viewing and will help attendees view interesting celestial objects.\nMeet at the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum at 7:30pm on Thursday\, March 27th. The address is 18 Highlawn Rd\, Warner NH. The telescopes will be set up in the field. If it looks like it will be bad weather\, or too cloudy that evening\, the back up date is Friday\, March 28th.\n\nGeneral Rules for public skywatches from the NHAS:\n Watch your stepBe especially careful of wires on the ground. Park CarefullyTry to park so that your headlights and back-up lights won’t interfere with the observers. No SmokingSmoke damages telescope optics. Red FlashlightsNo white lights. A red light will not ruin your night vision as much as white light will. You can cover the lens of a regular light with red plastic or tail-light repair tape. A dim light will seem bright once your eyes become dark-adapted. No Flash PhotographyThe bright flash of a camera can wreck everyone’s night vision. Stay WarmIt is cold when the sun goes down at night\, particularly when you are standing still under a clear sky. Bring about twice as much warm clothing as you think you’ll need. Winter calls for insulated boots\, warm socks\, thermal underwear\, corduroy jeans\, parka\, flannel shirt\, gloves\, and\, very important\, a warm knit cap!\n\nFor more info on skywatches\, check out the NHAS website: http://nhastro.com/skywatch.php

SUMMARY:“Essentials for Vegetable Gardening Success” Moulton Farm\, Meredith NH
DESCRIPTION:In “Essentials for Vegetable Gardening Success\,” John Moulton\, owner of Moulton Farm\, will discuss several common issues that can cause challenges for both new and experienced vegetable gardeners. “Preventing problems from occurring is so much easier and more effective than having to treat an issue in your garden\,” says Moulton. “The truth is paying attention to a few things and following good practices at the start of the growing season can prevent a lot of problems.” \nMoulton will share tips on how to care for your soil\, start seeds\, when and how to feed your plants and when not to\, and what watering practices support healthy growth and discourage plant diseases and pests. The session will also include time to ask questions. \n“Essentials for Vegetable Gardening Success” will be offered twice\, and the same information will be covered at each session.  Pre-registration is required due to limited space.  One session will be on Saturday\, March 29\, from 10 am to 11:30 am.  The same workshop will also be held on Thursday\, April 10\, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. \nDue to the popularity of past gardening workshops at the farm and limited seats\, pre-registration is required. Register by visiting MoultonFarm.com or by calling the farm at 603-279-3915. \nMoulton Farm / 18 Quarry Road(off Rte.25) / Meredith NH
