Tori’s journey brought her to Asheville\, North Carolina where she did an apprenticeship that developed her love for big vessels. So from beginning with dinnerware\, Tori’s focus went to over-sized terracotta pieces that create their own presence in a room. \nTori’s signature large vessels combine ancient techniques with a modern sensibility\, showcasing the raw beauty of clay through powerful silhouettes and earthy glazes. Each piece balances strength and abstraction\, reflecting themes of endurance\, transformation\, and timelessness. Tori’s vessels are rooted in tradition\, but their scale and presence transform them into something more contemplative and architectural. She designs her beautiful vessels to be in harmony with their space\, whether inside or outdoors. \nTori Motyl’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation as seen in her monolithic pots are magnificent and inspiring. DESCRIPTION:The Belknap Mill\, the oldest unaltered brick textile mill in the United States\, is\nproud to announce the opening of its newest permanent exhibit\, “Threads of Innovation\,”\ndebuting to the public on Friday\, June 6\, 2025.\nThis thoughtfully curated exhibit explores the Belknap Mill’s pivotal role as a leader in early\nindustrial efficiency and innovation. At its center is the c. 1890s freight elevator\, a key\ntechnological advancement that allowed seamless movement of materials between floors. This\ninnovation supported a vertically integrated production process\, allowing raw cotton to be\ntransformed into finished cloth entirely under one roof.\n“Threads of Innovation” offers a hands-on and immersive experience that highlights the Mill’s\ngroundbreaking approach to organization and manufacturing — a model that helped shape the\nstructure of modern industry.\n“The Belknap Mill is not only a symbol of Laconia’s industrial heritage but also of the ingenuity\nand adaptation that defined early American manufacturing\,” said Dr. Katherine\nSwitala-Elmhurst\, Vice Chair of the Board at the Belknap Mill. “This new exhibit brings that\nlegacy to life in a powerful and accessible way.”\nTo mark the exhibit’s opening and celebrate summer\, the Belknap Mill will also host a free\noutdoor concert as part of its First Friday festivities. Then enjoy rows and rows of flowers ready for you to pick.  \nYou’ll find everything from amaranth to zinnias.  Are you looking for delicate\, romantic flowers such as cosmos?  Whimsical classics like snapdragons?  We’ve planted them all and more!  \nIn addition to visiting our cutting garden\, enjoy a meal at our food truck or visit our farm market for food from our fields\, farm bakery\, and farm kitchen.  \nPlease note: Depending on the weather\, you may want to bring boots. Our cutting garden can be wet underfoot.

DESCRIPTION:July 25\, 9-11am\nGrey Rocks Conservation Area\n178 N Shore Rd\, Hebron\, NH\nLearn how to identify invasive aquatic plants and their native look-alikes on a guided paddle of Newfound Lake. Participants will learn how to conduct a Weed Watcher survey and leave this training with the knowledge to serve as an NLRA Weed Watcher. Weed Watchers observe Newfound Lake for potential aquatic invasive plant infestations\, a key role in keeping Newfound Lake free from aquatic invasive plants. Participants will need to supply their own paddle craft. \nWant to paddle  with a purpose?
