Lakes Region Attempts a Halloween World Record

The Lakes Region Tourism Association welcomes everyone to visit the Lakes Region of New Hampshire for the Pumpkin Festival October 13th – 14th. During this two-day event, there will be lots to see and do in downtown Laconia, including New Hampshire’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most lit jack-o-lanterns at one time, beer garden and amusement rides.

The third annual Extreme Chunkin pumpkin launching competition returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Oct. 14 and 15. The event, which pits backyard engineers in an all-out battle for pumpkin launching greatness, will feature four divisions: Air Cannon, Trebuchet, Catapult/Torsion, and Youth. Each division will feature three rounds of competition, including two rounds on Saturday and the final round on Sunday. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 on the day of the event.
