SUMMARY:MKIM is Open all Winter Long & Artifact of the Month - Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum\, Warner NH
DESCRIPTION:Looking for someplace to escape the cold? It may be freezing outside\, but it’s nice and toasty inside MKIM! \nWe’ll be open Fridays and Saturdays all winter long\, where you’ll always be greeted with a fun\, educational experience\, and a smile or two. \nCome join us! \nPlease Note: If it is snowing during a day we are supposed to be open\, please call the museum or check our Facebook to make sure we have not closed due to inclement weather. Thank you. \nARTIFACT OF THE MONTH \nFitting with the snow we’ve been getting\, January’s Artifact of the Month is this pair of northeastern Canadian-style snowshoes. This pair was made in the 1930s\, consisting of a wooden frame with netting\, cord\, and thongs made from animal hide. This particular shape of snowshoe is referred to as “bearpaw” because of its wide\, almost circular shape that is perfect for hiking through dense woods or rocky areas. View these along with other snowshoes on display in MKIM’s Northeast gallery! \n \nMt. Kearsarge Indian Museum / 18 Highlawn Rd. / Warner NH \n603-456-2600

SUMMARY:Party Animals Exhibit - McLane Center NH Audubon\, Concord NH
DESCRIPTION:Party Animals by Bethany Clarke \nThis exhibit runs at the McLane Center in Concord from March 11-May 2\, 2026. Join us in celebrating this exhibit with the artist on March 13 from 4-6pm at the McLane Center! \nDescription: Handprinted linocuts featuring an array of native New Hampshire plants and animals. The images are all initially sketched by hand and then transferred onto linoleum blocks. They are then carved with a blade. For printing\, the blocks are rolled with ink\, and paper is pressed onto them with a barren and body weight. When pulled up\, the paper includes a reverse image of the block. All prints have natural variances in tone due to human touch\, which is what makes them special. \nArt exhibit viewing access may be restricted during private event rentals. Calling ahead to confirm is recommended. \nBio: Bethany is a public school teacher and linocut printmaker living in Concord. Her prints feature a whimsical array of plants and animals native to New Hampshire. In addition to printing on paper\, she upcycles thrifted clothing with hand-printed patches and scrap quilted appliqué pieces. Her studio is in her basement\, where her two cats like to assist in the creative process. \n \nMcLane Center\n\n84 Silk Farm Road\nConcord\,NH\n\n \nOpen 11am-5pm Wednesday thru Saturday\n\n+ Google Map \n\n\n603-224-9909 \n\n\nView Venue Website \n\n

SUMMARY:Squam Lakes Artisans Spring Open House\, Center Harbor NH
DESCRIPTION:Squam Lakes Artisans\, a cooperative gallery and gift emporium on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee\, is celebrating the 2026 spring season with an Open House on April 24\, from 5-6:30pm. The gallery membership includes 20 fine artists\, photographers and artisans who are local to the Lakes Region. \n The gallery provides a broad and colorful cross section of the creativity that exists throughout New Hampshire. The works on display include all manner of visual art: paintings\, photography\, and fine art and crafts fashioned from fabric\, glass\, wood\, and other materials. \n Paintings on display have been created in traditional mediums (oil\, acrylic\, watercolor)\, as well as more esoteric mediums such as digital\, alcohol and ink. In addition to the hanging art\, the gamut of fine arts and crafts is fully represented\, from wood carvings\, fabric art\, pottery and ceramics to fine jewelry\, glass art\, woodworking and metal sculptures. \n “As a cooperative\, the gallery is always staffed by members\, so visitors are assisted by knowledgeable professional artists”\, said SLA president Marian Federspiel. “The Open House is a rare opportunity to meet more of our artists\, ask questions and even see demos of artmaking in process.”   \n Many new and exciting things are happening at the gallery. Visitors are invited to sign up for the new newsletter\, which will keep them informed of events\, introduce new artists\, and provide updates about gallery events and artist activities. \n Squam Lakes Artisans [SLA] was established in 2005 in the Squam Lake Science Center in Holderness. In 2018\, the gallery relocated to 23 Main Street\, Center Harbor\, in the building next to the town bandstand\, just across from the town docks.   \n For more information about the gallery and the artists\, visit SquamLakesArtisans.com. \nSquam Lakes Artisans / 23 Main Street. / Center Harbor NH
