Weirs BeachEver since the 1920’s, Weirs Beach has drawn tourists seeking access to the great Lake Winnipesaukee.  The iconic sign points the way to fun for families and in 2017 was made one of the “Ten Best Beaches for Families” by Family Vacation Critic®.  The editors noted that Weirs Beach “transports families to the beach vacations of yesteryear with its classic beach and boardwalk fun.”

2017 will also mark a milestone for the vintage era destination, with an extensive renovation to the Winnipesaukee Pier.  The newly redesigned pier will feature new storefronts and dining as well as water fun rentals including boats, paddle boards, kayaks and water skiing lessons.  Serious boaters will enjoy a boat slip rentals that include a new boat house lounge and members only club.  This massive undertaking is being done by East Coast Flight craft of New England that purchased the pier with plans to rebuild the entire 14,000 sq. ft. of space.  Amy Landers, Executive Director of the Lakes Region Tourism Association states that this is just what the area needs, “The newly redesigned Winnipesaukee Pier will have a positive economic impact on the entire region, attracting more visitors, servicing the boating industry and bringing more jobs to the area.”  Landers reports these new features of the transformation:

-Retail stores will feature all the keepsakes that tourists love to take home such as t-shirts, hats and sunglasses.

-Water fun rentals booth will be available from the pier.

-Breakfast, snacks and beverages will be readily available for boaters or beach goers.

-Pizza by the famous Sal’s Pizza will provide call in and pick up orders for boaters and a ‘make your own’ pizza for kids.

-Fried Dough, the perfect vacationers treat, will also be provided by Sal’s Pizza.

-Texas Smokehouse is a new feature at the pier providing classic BBQ favorites.

-Anthony’s Restaurant will still overlook the water for full-service lunch and dinner with a million dollar view.

-The pier will continue to provide hours of fun for all ages with interactive video games, bouncy houses, and bungie jumping.
