New England Pond Hockey Classic
Hundreds of pond hockey players and fans will flock to the region to experience the frozen lake, and freezing temperatures all for the chance to help “Bring Hockey in New England Back to the Basics.” The New England Pond Hockey Classic is an adult pond hockey tournament which will take place on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, NH during the first weekend of February the 5th-7th.

Blood Drive at Tanger
On Friday and Saturday, November 27th & 28th the American Red Cross bloodmobile visits the Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Type O’s are in special demand at this time. That’s because, as the most common blood type in the United States, it’s the first to feel the results of increased usage coupled with decreased donations. All blood types are needed, however, and first time donors are encouraged to donate at this blood drive.

Waterville Valley Resort’s Russian Fairy Tale Art Exhibit
Master artists will bring magic of The Snow Maiden to Waterville Valley Resort this fall. Master decorative artists/teachers Tricia Joiner (Waterville Valley, NH) and Slava Letkov (Zhostovo, Russia), will demonstrate the creation of a series of fine art panels depicting episodes of the Russian fairy tale, “The Snow Maiden.”

The Galactic Center to be Unveiled at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center
New England residents will be taken on a journey to the center of our galaxy as the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center unveils unprecedented mural-sized images of the Milky Way’s core as seen by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope, and Chandra X-ray Observatory.

TIME TO SIGN UP FOR SNOWMOBILE SAFETY CLASS
The seasons are changing fast, and now is the time to sign up for snowmobile education classes offered across the state. To operate a snowmobile in New Hampshire, any person over the age of 12 must have either a valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License or have successfully completed an approved Off-Highway Recreational Vehicle (OHRV) Safety Education class taught by volunteer instructors trained by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
