Book Club – April 22nd, 5:30pm on Zoom – Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, Warner NH
Join us this evening for our next community Book Club as we read Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice — a gripping and thought-provoking novel set in a remote Anishinaabe community in northern Canada.
As winter deepens, the community suddenly loses power, cell service, and all communication with the outside world. At first the disruption seems temporary, but as days turn into weeks with no explanation, concern begins to grow. With supplies dwindling and uncertainty rising, community members must rely on their traditions, leadership, and collective strength to navigate a rapidly changing reality.
When unexpected visitors arrive from the south bringing troubling stories and new tensions, the community must confront difficult questions about trust, survival, and what it truly means to live as a people connected to land, culture, and one another. Through the eyes of protagonist Evan Whitesky and his family, the story explores resilience, Indigenous knowledge, and the strength of community in the face of crisis.
This event is free and open to the community.
The meeting will take place April 22, 2026 at 5:30pm via Zoom.
