Fall Special Tour Series: For Shakers, By Shakers – Canterbury Shaker Village, Canterbury NH

One of the most widely known aspects of Shaker life is their production of furniture. The ongoing influence of Shaker furniture and woodwork can be seen in modern and contemporary designs.
Often described as simple or minimalist, the reality of Shaker furniture design is much more nuanced with a wide range of styles not only varying across the different regions and villages, but also sometimes within the same Shaker community. Join Director of Interpretation and Education Kyle Sandler for a special tour of the Village focusing on the history of Canterbury Shaker furniture.
Registration required: $15 members; $30 nonmembers. Special Tour registration includes regular Village admission.
