Become a Newfound Lake Weed Watcher and help protect Newfound from invasive aquatic plants.

Join NLRA for a guided paddle designed to train new and returning volunteers in the identification of invasive aquatic plants and the techniques used to survey Newfound Lake’s shoreline. Participants will learn how to recognize common native and invasive species, understand why early detection is critical, and gain hands-on experience conducting shoreline surveys from the water.

This paddle serves as an excellent introduction for anyone interested in becoming a Weed Watcher volunteer and is the perfect way to prepare for the Newfound Lake Weed Stampede on August 15 & 16, when volunteers will work together to survey the entire shoreline of Newfound Lake.

No prior experience is necessary. Participants should bring their own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard, along with appropriate safety gear.
