John Williams’ The Cowboys Overture sets the stage with cinematic flair, while fiddler-composer Mark O’Connor brings Appalachian fire to his Fiddle Concerto – a virtuosic blend of classical and bluegrass traditions featuring Concertmaster Margaret Hopkins.
Soar above red rock vistas with Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite, a vibrant tone poem capturing the grandeur of the Southwest. We conclude with the irresistible rhythms of Aaron Copland’s Hoedown, a barn-burning tribute to Americana at its best.
