Newfound Nature Series presentations will be held Tuesday evenings at the Grey Rocks Conservation Center in Hebron. The six-week series, presented by the Newfound Lake Region Association and NH Audubon, explores topics ranging from climate change and watershed health to wildlife conservation and emerging environmental research.

The Newfound Lake Region Association (NLRA) and NH Audubon invite the public to attend the 2026 Newfound Nature Series, a six-week speaker program featuring scientists, researchers, and conservation professionals. Presentations will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. from July 14 through August 18 at the Grey Rocks Conservation Center, 178 North Shore Road in Hebron.

Formerly known as the Red Barn Speaker Series, the Newfound Nature Series continues a tradition of bringing expert speakers to the community to share research, insights, and stories about the natural world. Topics range from climate change and watershed health to wildlife conservation and emerging environmental issues.

All presentations are free and open to the public. No registration is required.

This year’s series includes:

July 14 – Nature, Climate, and Your Health (Cynthia Nichols, Antioch University)
Explore the connections between environmental change and human well-being and learn how climate impacts are affecting public health in New Hampshire and across the region.

July 21 – The Power of Place: Why We Care About the Places We Love (Dr. Brian Eisenhauer, Plymouth State University)
Discover how emotional connections to landscapes inspire stewardship, conservation, and community action.

July 28 – The Return of New Hampshire’s Bald Eagles (Mickayla Johnston and Chris Martin, NH Audubon)
Learn the remarkable story of bald eagle recovery in New Hampshire and the conservation efforts that helped bring this iconic species back from the brink.

August 4 – How Climate Change is Reshaping New Hampshire’s Forests (Dr. Matthew Vadeboncoeur, University of New Hampshire)
Examine how changing temperatures, shifting weather patterns, and invasive species are transforming the forests that define New Hampshire’s landscape.

August 11 – The Health of the Newfound Watershed (Paul Pellissier, Newfound Lake Region Association)
Learn how monitoring, research, and stewardship efforts help protect water quality and ecosystem health throughout the Newfound watershed.

August 18 – Microplastics in New England Lakes (Dr. Jim Killarney, Colby-Sawyer College)
Explore emerging research on microplastic pollution in rural New England lakes, including Newfound Lake, and what these contaminants may mean for freshwater ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.
