Held on scenic Purity Island, this lively autumn tradition combines authentic German fare, festive drinks, friendly competition, and the spirit of community in the heart of New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

The event welcomes both day guests and those seeking a getaway through Purity Spring’s special Weekend Package.

Festivities run from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Purity Island, where guests are greeted by a fire pit, seating areas, and seasonal decorations of pumpkins and cornstalks. Seasonal beer and wine set the tone for the evening, encouraging revelers to raise their steins and toast the season.

Guests will want to compete in the Stein Hoisting Competition, where participants showcase their strength and stamina by holding a full stein of beer at arm’s length for as long as possible. Winners proudly claim a custom-engraved pine medallion, earning bragging rights until next year’s event.

Culinary traditions take center stage with an authentic Oktoberfest buffet, available for $25 per person, with one entrée included.

The buffet includes:

• Garden Salad
• German Potato Salad
• Gurkensalat (Cucumber Salad)
• Traditional German Rotkohl (Red Cabbage)

Guests select one entrée from:

• Bratwurst with Sauerkraut
• German Rouladen
• Flank Steak filled with Bacon, Mustard and Pickles
• German Marinated Grilled Chicken
• Shields Hot Dogs

Iced tea and lemonade are included with the buffet. German beer pretzels with beer cheese dipping sauce, additional bratwurst, hot dogs, and desserts will be available for purchase. Traditions Pub will be closed during the event.
