Get outside and into the woods for a fall adventure in shelter building! Build your own squirrel hut (debris hut) using sticks, leaves, and branches—just like wilderness explorers. Practice teamwork, problem-solving, and basic outdoor skills while connecting with the rhythms of nature. Learn strategies for staying warm and dry in the wild; and see why fall is a perfect time to build in the forest.

Recommended Ages: 6-14*

Physical Demand: [3] = Activity includes ½-1 mile of walking on uneven terrain; may include hills.

Cost: $15 per child. No charge for accompanying an adult.

*Siblings of children outside of this age range are welcome to attend. Anyone 3 years or older at the time of the program must be registered.
