2. Granite State Railway: The Alouette
All aboard! There’s a brand-new train experience in the Lakes Region. The Granite State Railway is now traveling from Meredith to downtown Plymouth along the Alouette train, crossing local landmarks like the Ashland High Trestle, Bonnie Brae Deer Farm, and the Glove Hollow Christmas Tree Farm. With a two-hour layover in Plymouth, you’ll have plenty of time to shop, grab lunch, and relax at the town common before heading back to Meredith. The trip is 4.5 hours, and the train runs every other Friday in July and August. Purchase your coach or first-class tickets (children under the age of three ride free!) on the website.

3. Molly the Trolley
Operated by the Wolfeboro Trolley Company, Molly the Trolley is a beloved mode of public transportation, featuring open-air seating for up to 30 passengers and an eye-catching red and green color palette. 5. Scenic railriders and granite state rail bikes
One of the most unique sightseeing experiences, Scenic Railriders allows visitors to pedal along a retired railroad track in either two- or four-seat custom rail bikes. It’ll take about one hour and 45 minutes to complete the 6.2-mile ride, where you’ll pedal your way through woods, farmlands, and over a couple of New Hampshire’s iconic bridges, all located along the Merrimack River. (Tip: Come autumn, these rail bikes are an excellent way to admire New England’s famous fall foliage up close.)
The Laconia-based Granite State Rail Bikes is another option for a picturesque pedaling experience. From May through October, depart from the historic Laconia Railroad Station aboard a four-person rail bike. The 5-mile route brings you along the shimmering shores of Lake Winnisquam and past some of the Lakes Region’s most postcard-worthy sights.

6. skydive new england
Soaring through the sky, admiring the scenery with a bird’s eye view — talk about a unique way to travel around the Lakes Region! Skydive New England, which operates in both Portsmouth and Manchester, helps thrill-seekers reach new heights with a range of skydiving packages, including tandem and group experiences. You can even opt for a video package to record yourself free-falling and replay the memories once you’re back on the ground.

7. Tiki Hut Boats
Since 2018, these floating tiki bars have whisked passengers along Lake Winnipesaukee in both private charters and public cruises. Tiki Hut Boats has a collection of three boats, all perfect for bachelor and bachelorette parties, anniversaries, and even weddings on the water. Arrive at The Pier at Winnipesaukee (located at Weirs Beach) about 30 minutes before your cruise, pick up beverages and snacks for the ride, and board the boat for a carefree, fun-spirited day out on the water.
