Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort Celebrates 25 Years with Labor Day Weekend Anniversary Celebration, Freedom NH
Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort marks a quarter century of hospitality in 2026. To celebrate this milestone, the resort is planning for a multi-day “Cheers to 25 Years” anniversary event taking place Labor Day Weekend, September 3-6, 2026. The weekend will celebrate 25 years of family traditions, camping memories, community, and hospitality with a full lineup of activities, entertainment, and special events for guests of all ages.
Since opening in 2001, Danforth Bay has welcomed generations of families to the Lakes and Mountains Region of New Hampshire, and has grown into one of the region’s premier camping and RV destinations. The anniversary weekend is designed to honor both longtime campers and new families who continue to make Danforth Bay part of their traditions year after year.
In addition to the Labor Day Weekend celebration, special anniversary activities, giveaways, themed events, and entertainment will be offered throughout the 2026 camping season as part of Danforth Bay’s yearlong 25th anniversary celebration.
The multi-day Labor Day Weekend celebration will pack the resort with family-friendly fun, kicking off with a festive Golf Cart Parade and rolling through a full lineup of activities for all ages — from a Craft Fair and Food Trucks to Tie-Dye and Ceramics Painting. Guests can test their luck at Candy Bar Bingo, show off their skills in a Cornhole Tournament, and cool off at not one but two unforgettable pool parties: a daytime splash with DJ Ram Jam and a magical Glow Pool Party after dark. The festivities will also include an Ice Cream Social featuring familiar faces from Danforth Bay’s 25-year history, and cap off with a spectacular Dueling Pianos performance that’s sure to be foot-stomping fun.
Guests can also enjoy nostalgic photo displays, anniversary merchandise and reunion opportunities with former staff and longtime campers. They’ll also give special recognition to families and individuals who have helped shape the Danforth Bay community over the years.“This weekend is about celebrating the people who made Danforth Bay what it is today,” said Amanda Buswell, Regional General Manager for Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort. “For 25 years, families have created traditions, friendships, and memories here that span generations. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey and excited to celebrate this milestone together.”
The anniversary celebration will take place throughout Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 3-6, 2026, with activities scheduled from Thursday through Sunday. Additional event details, schedules, and entertainment announcements will be released throughout the season.

The large swimming pool at Danforth Bay will be the site for not one but two pool parties during the Labor Weekend 25th Anniversary celebration.
A History of Property Upgrades
Since being purchased by the Hoyt Family in 2000, Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort has undergone significant improvements. The family bought what used to be the old Shawtown campground, with its half-mile of frontage on Ossipee Lake and more than 300 campsites, rebuilding it from scratch into a full-service resort offering a variety of activities, especially for families with children.
In 2005, they underwent the $3.5 million development of the Bluffs at Danforth Bay. In 2023, the resort announced extensive upgrades to the resort’s amenities, including a six-figure investment in a new swimming pool facility. The new heated outdoor pool features kiddie slides, a splash fountain and a walk-in entry.
“It’s exciting to be part of a family of businesses that is so deeply committed to reinvesting in their properties,” said Amanda Buswell, Regional GM for the Hoyt family businesses. The Hoyts have been in the hospitality industry for over 100 years, and their ongoing focus is to ensure that as technology, guest expectations, and aesthetics evolve, our facilities evolve right along with them. These upgrades are part of a long-term vision to continue offering high-quality experiences that our guests can count on year after year.”
