About The Show

Born in Sicily and now based in Boston, Daniela Schächter is an internationally recognized jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, and educator whose contemporary approach to jazz blends exceptional musicianship with creativity and spontaneity.

A professor at Berklee College of Music and Brown University, Daniela has earned numerous honors including victories in the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition, Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead Competition, and Sisters in Jazz Competition.

Throughout her career, Daniela has performed alongside many of jazz’s most celebrated artists including Randy Brecker, Christian McBride, Patti Austin, Regina Carter, John Clayton Jr., New York Voices, Terri Lyne Carrington, and many others.

She has appeared at major festivals and venues including The Blue Note, Kennedy Center, Hollywood Bowl, Boston Pops, Umbria Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival, Cape Cod Jazz Festival, and Ravinia Jazz Festival.

Together with bassist Keala Kaumeheiwa and drummer Charlie Weller, Daniela’s trio delivers sophisticated, modern jazz filled with swing, lyricism, improvisation, and musical conversation.
