Description: Embark on a wildlife adventure with our naturalist along the banks of Newfound Lake, Hebron Marsh, and the Cockermouth River. Sightings often include Great Blue Heron, Painted Turtles and an occasional Bald Eagle. Canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards are available for rent, but the program itself is free. Boat rentals will be charged the 2 Hour pricing, see info here. Participants may bring their own paddle-powered vessels if they do not wish to rent, but getting boats to the water can be difficult. If participants are bringing their own vessel, they should plan additional time to walk their boat to the water. Personal flotation devices and paddles are offered for free with boat rentals, but participants are welcome to bring their own if they have them. Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of the program and be sure to bring your own drinking water, sunblock, and a light snack. Reservations for guided paddles can be made on the NH Audubon Events Calendar here. Please email newfoundaud@nhaudubon.org or call (603)224-9909 if you have any questions.
Guided paddles are free to attend, without rentals. If you feel inspired to support New Hampshire Audubon’s work, please consider a gift to our Annual Fund at nhaudubon.org/donate. Your contribution supports priorities like environmental education for people of all ages across NH, stewardship of nearly 10,000 acres of conserved habitat, science-based environmental policy and advocacy, and statewide conservation research and wildlife monitoring.
