Explore New Hampshire’s Waters with Confidence
Boating is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of New Hampshire’s lakes and rivers. Whether you prefer paddling, rowing, sailing, or cruising in a motorboat, having the right skills and knowledge makes your time on the water safer and more enjoyable.
At the New Hampshire Boat Museum, we’re committed to promoting safe and responsible boating. Last season, we partnered with local businesses and boating education organizations to offer hands-on boating basics and safety courses. We’re excited to continue expanding these educational programs, ensuring that everyone—beginners and seasoned boaters alike—feels confident and prepared to navigate their vessel of choice.

On-Water Boating Instruction
“I’m sorry for what I said while docking the boat.” Don’t let docking stress ruin your day on the water!
Our On-Water Instruction class is designed to help you master the fundamentals of boat handling, including docking, backing, maneuvering in tight spaces, and entering and leaving a slip with confidence.
Each two-hour lesson provides hands-on training, making it the perfect opportunity to refine your skills and gain greater control over your vessel. Instruction is led by Paul French, a NH Certified Boating Safety Instructor, ensuring you receive expert guidance.
