Halloween is just around the corner, and spooky shenanigans are in full swing! The Lakes Region is brewing up a cauldron of tricks and treats this October – and we’re not just talking about the autumn leaves changing and apple cider donuts baking.
We’ve rounded up the best of the best of ghostly fun and hair-raising frights, from haunted hay rides to mouth-watering treats and family-friendly activities. Check out these Lakes Region events and seasonal shenanigans!
1. Boos fest
When: October 27, 6 – 9 p.m.
Where: Newfound Lake Inn, Bridgewater
What: Boos Fest at the Newfound Lake Inn
It’s all tricks, no treats at this spooktacular Halloween event at Newfound Lake Inn. Find delectable bites at SAL’s Birch Bar, sip on spooky spirits, take part in a costume contest, and dance to music from DJ Jeff Lines.
2. Halloween Masquerade Ball
When: October 21, 6 – 9 p.m.
Where: 211 Lakeside Ave., Weirs Beach, Laconia
What: Halloween Masquerade Ball on the Mount Washington
Mount Washington Cruises’ 21+ Halloween Masquerade Ball is the final cruise of the season. This three-hour-long cruise features an unlimited buffet-style dinner, live music, seasonal snacks and drinks, and one of the most impressive Halloween costume contests in the Lakes Region!
3. BEans and screems
When: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through October 30, 7 – 9:30 p.m.
Where: Beans & Greens Farm, Gilford
What: Beans and Screams Haunted Night Maze
Come for a thrilling night filled with eerie encounters at Beans & Greens Farm. Wander through the maze, complete with spooky effects and scare actors, now through October 31. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Purchase tickets online for $20.
4. pumpkinfest
When: October 27, 4 – 8 p.m. and October 28, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Where: Downtown Laconia
What: Pumpkinfest in Laconia
This two-day fall festival is held in the heart of Laconia, offering entertainment for all ages. Admire the pumpkin displays on the Main Street Pumpkin Stroll, play a game of Pumpkin Bowling, browse the Great New England Craft and Artisan Show, nibble on goodies from local food vendors, and enjoy live music! 5. wicked weirs
When: October 27, 5 p.m. and October 28, 11 p.m.
Where: Weirs Beach, Laconia
What: 3rd Annual Wicked Weirs Weekend
The annual Weirs Beach Halloween party is back for the third year in a row with live music all weekend long. Spend the night moving and grooving to DJ-spun tunes at any of the three stages, or take the stage yourself and give it your all at karaoke. With five bars and $1000 in costume prizes, you’re not going to want to miss this one!
6. Woodstock inn brewery halloween party
When: October 28, 8:30 – 11:30 p.m.
Where: Woodstock Inn Brewery, North Woodstock
What: Halloween Party
Celebrate Halloween with all your boos at Woodstock Inn Brewery’s Halloween bash, complete with costume contests, prizes, and a DJ.
