Halloween is just around the corner, and here in the Lakes Region, spooky shenanigans are in full swing!

 

From haunted lake cruises and creepy trails to classic Halloween movies, costume parties, and family-friendly trick-or-treating, there are plenty of ways to get into the spooky spirit this season.

Read on for some of the Lakes Region’s best Halloween events and seasonal shenanigans happening throughout October 2026.

BEANS AND GREENS FARM CORN MAZE

When: Daily through November 1

Where: Beans and Greens Farm, 245 Intervale Rd., Gilford, NH

The corn is tall, the maze is ready, and fall fun is waiting! Get lost among the towering stalks and see if you can navigate your way back out. Then spend the day exploring everything else the farm has to offer and soaking up the sights and sounds of the season.

BROOKFORD FARM CORN MAZE

When: Daily starting September 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m.

Where: Brookford Farm, 250 West Rd., Canterbury, NH

Ready to get lost? Wind your way through Brookford Farm’s fall corn maze, surrounded by fields and classic New England scenery. Once you’ve found your way out, stick around to meet the farm animals and explore the property. Before heading home, stop by the farm store for fresh organic vegetables, pasture-raised meats, dairy, and other local favorites.

Admission is $8 per person. Admission is free for children 3 years old and under! Check in at the farm store for admission. No pets, please!

HAPPY HAUNTINGS AT STORY LAND

When: Weekends, September 19–October 25

Where: Story Land, Glen

What: Happy Hauntings at Story Land

Costumes, pumpkins, candy…oh my! Story Land puts a Halloween spin on a day at the park during Happy Hauntings, returning every weekend from Sept. 19 through Oct. 25. Bring the kiddos for trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, bubble dance parties, and story time with Spookley the Square Pumpkin, all alongside Story Land’s rides, shows, and fairytale characters. Costumes are highly encouraged!

MOUTON FARM CORN MAZE

When: September 19–November 1 at 5 p.m. The maze opens at 8 a.m., and admission ends one hour before the farm closes.

Where: Mouton Farm, 18 Quarry Rd, Meredith, NH

Think you can find your way out? Get lost in a sprawling four-acre corn maze, then keep the fall adventure going with a sunflower field and pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Select weekends bring even more autumn fun with wagon rides and live music.

Admission is $12 per person and $6 for children ages 3 to 6. Children under 3 are admitted for free!

HAUNTED WINNIPESAUKEE

When: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, September 24–October 24

What: Haunted Winnipesaukee

Think Lake Winnipesaukee is all serene views and sunset cruises? Think again. This fall, board the newly refurbished Winnipesaukee Belle for a 90-minute journey into the lake’s darker side. A Ghost Host will share 18 tales of local horror, bizarre history, and New England lore as you cruise the dark waters of Winnipesaukee. Seasonal desserts are included, and the bar will be pouring beer, wine, soft drinks, and sinister specialty cocktails featuring spirits from Tamworth Distillery.

FEAR FARM AT BEANS & GREENS FARM

When: Fridays and Saturdays throughout October, plus Oct. 31, 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: Beans & Greens Farm, Gilford

What: Fear Farm at Beans & Greens Farm

Enter…if you dare! Beans & Greens Farm and Mayhem Productions are teaming up once again to transform the Gilford farm into Fear Farm every Friday and Saturday night throughout October, plus a special Halloween night. Your journey begins along a shadowy woodland trail before leading into abandoned greenhouses filled with twisting rooms, flickering lights, scare actors, and plenty of unexpected horrors. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and the last entry is at 9:30 p.m.

PUMPKINS AND PIGGIES

When: Daily starting on October 3

Where: Brookford Farm, Canterbury, NH

What: Brookford Farm Pumpkins and Piggies

Pumpkins, piggies, corn mazes…oh my! Spend a fall day at the farm picking pumpkins, feeding pigs, building a scarecrow, and exploring a winding corn maze. Kids can enjoy the Sandcastle Tent and Cow Parade while the whole family takes in the crisp autumn air and farm scenery. Before heading home, stop by the farm store for fresh organic produce, meats, dairy, and other local goodies.

General admission is free! Admission to the Corn Maze is $8 per person, and animal feed bags are $8 each.

CASTLE IN THE CLOUDS GRAVEYARD HISTORY WALKING TOUR

When: Saturdays and Mondays, October 5–24, and Thursday, October 15. Tours run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Castle in the Clouds, 455 Old Mountain Rd., Moultonborough, NH

Take a walk through the remnants of historic cemeteries and cellar holes while uncovering the stories, lives, and funeral traditions of the families who once called the area home. Along the way, you’ll get a glimpse into how early residents lived, died, and remembered their loved ones.

Registration is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required. Please be aware that this tour involves walking approximately two miles outdoors, including inclines and uneven ground. Please wear appropriate footwear, dress for the weather, and bring sunscreen and bug spray.

BEETLEJUICE OUTDOOR MOVIE

When: Friday, October 9, 7 p.m.

Where: The Courtyard at Arts Alley, Concord

What: Free Outdoor Movie: Beetlejuice

It’s showtime! Red River Theatres and Arts Alley are bringing Tim Burton’s wonderfully weird Beetlejuice to the big screen for a free outdoor movie night in The Courtyard. Come dressed in your best Beetlejuice-inspired look for a chance to earn costume-contest bragging rights, grab a themed treat from Arts Alley, and settle in for a delightfully strange night under the stars.

HALLOWEEN MOVIES AT THE FLYING MONKEY

It just wouldn’t be Halloween without a scary movie! Catch Halloween classics like Hocus Pocus, Halloween, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the big screen during one of The Flying Monkey’s weekly movie nights. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available during the screening, and $1 from every ticket purchased will support Pemi-Valley Habitat for Humanity. Doors open at 5 p.m., so arrive early, grab your snacks, and get ready to run amok, amok, amok!

Follow the glow! Jack-o’-lanterns transform the woodland trails into a festive Halloween path for a family-friendly evening stroll. Costumes are encouraged, but don’t expect a haunted or scary experience — this walk is designed for Halloween fans of all ages. Afterward, warm up by the fire pit and enjoy seasonal goodies from Castle in the Clouds, the Moultonborough Recreation Department, and the Lakes Region Conservation Trust.

HALLOWEEN HOWL AT ARTS ALLEY AND MAIN STREET

Downtown Concord is getting its Halloween howl on! Bring the family for spooky photo ops, a dance party and costume contest, trunk-or-treating, witchy flash mobs, food trucks, and plenty of surprises. There’s something around every corner, whether you’re ready to dance, hunt for treats, or simply soak up the Halloween atmosphere. Costumes are encouraged, so come ready to join the fun.

Brass Against – Halloween Tour

Turn up the volume for a Halloween night fueled by brass, rock, and powerhouse vocals as Brass Against takes on songs by Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, and more. The collective burst onto the scene with a viral cover of “Killing in the Name” and has since taken its explosive sound from Glastonbury to stages alongside Tool, Slipknot, and Lenny Kravitz. Expect familiar hard-rock anthems with a very different sound, thanks to a brass-heavy ensemble led by baritone saxophonist Andrew Gutauskas.

What: The Edgar Allan Poe Afterlife Radio Show

A tapping at the chamber door, the beating of a hideous heart, and some of Edgar Allan Poe’s creepiest tales set the scene for this Halloween production from the Winni Players Community Theatre. The Edgar Allan Poe Afterlife Radio Show imagines Poe attempting to keep his stories alive from beyond the grave with the help of an otherworldly radio studio and a cast of wandering spirits. There’s just one problem: the master of the macabre has a few things to learn about the world of radio.

Looking for a place to show off your costume on Halloween night? Head upstairs to The Main Venue at Arts Alley for a 21+ party filled with music, dancing, specialty drinks, and plenty of spooky surprises. Precision Entertainment will keep the Halloween favorites and party hits spinning while guests compete for costume-contest prizes, pose for Halloween photo ops, and enjoy giveaways, candy, and treats throughout the evening.
