Celebrate Maple Month in the Lakes Region

It’s March in the Lakes Region and that means one thing: It’s Maple Month! Up here, we consider this sweet liquid the true herald of spring and a surer sign of warmer days to come than any groundhog’s prediction. Well, the sap has started flowing and cocktails, sweet, and savory treats are popping up on menus across the region. We’ve compiled a list of some of the yummiest local maple offerings and activities so you can get your maple on this month!

 

For the Sweethearts: A Romantic Getaway

If you can think of nothing sweeter than celebrating maple season with your special someone, this package from the Snowvillage Inn is for you! Book this package and stay from March 25-27th to receive: a special maple sugar house breakfast with freshly baked muffins and hot entrée choices, 2 pints of maple syrup to take home, and a three-course dinner for two. On Sunday, March 27th from 11am-1pm the Squam Lakes Conservation Society, and the Lakes Region Conservation Trust are hosting a maple bash for all ages! Enjoy folk music, sugar on snow, and learn more about maple! Maple tree education walks will take place at 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, and 12:30. We hope to see you at Burleigh Farm!

Well, the good news is that our friends at Water Street Cafe are serving up not one, but two maple themed cocktails alongside their maple lover’s omelet this month! If you’re looking for a unique libation, we’d recommend their maple grapefruit mimosa. For those of you with an unstoppable sweet tooth, they’ll also be serving up a waffles and maple cream cocktail.

With maple offerings in full swing, we think it’s the perfect time to indulge in a Common Man favorite! Their Apple Walnut Chicken features savory apple stuffing, walnut panko crust, and maple cream. The Common Man’s Lakehouse Grille in Meredith also offers Maple Sriracha Wings and Skillet Brussels with a chili and maple glaze.
